Services
Individual Counseling: Individual sessions are 45-50 minute sessions where the client meets one-on-one with the therapist. For individual sessions, clients typically meet with the therapist once a week. Statistically this has been shown to be the most effective frequency for outpatient therapy. Marriage Counseling: Marriage counseling, like individual counseling, consists of 45-50 minute sessions.
Neil R. Jones is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Neil has been in practice since February of 2005. Neil did his masters level internship with the Meier Clinics (formerly Meier New Life Clinics). Neil worked for two years in their intensive outpatient day program, where the teaching were based on the works of Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, while also managing an outpatient caseload.
Gretchen L. Jones MA is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Gretchen received her masters degree (MA) in Counseling Psychology with a multicultural emphasis from Northwest University in 2005. Gretchen received her bachelors degree (BA) in Psychology with a minor in business from Northwest College in 2003.
What do you think of when you think of some one being angry? As a society we seem to confuse certain sets of behaviors with emotions. I believe this problem stems from the reality that we can never experience another persons emotions. We can only interpret the other persons feelings through our interpretations of the behaviors they are demonstrating.
Many people are nervous their first session and unsure of what to expect. This is true whether people have been to counseling before or this is their first time. It takes a lot of courage to make the initial appointment and we would like to help ease some of that anxiety. During the first session our main goal is to get to know you and learn about your concerns and what has brought you to counseling at this current time.

Update: I saw Gretchen Jones in 2016. She was very thorough in her evaluations and professional. I have altered my review as the new regulations during the Covid-19 pandemic has affected many businesses. The contact issues mentioned below has been resolved and was a result of technical difficulties. Gretchen Jones has worked with me to resolve these concerns.

I have been trying contact them for weeks now for information needed from past visits. I have left multiple messages, sent multiple emails, and I still have not been contacted by anyone.

Massive difficulties with this counselor. First she said the counseling sessions were covered by insurance. Then she said she couldn’t get approval from insurance. Finally she didn’t provide billing statements when requested. Very unprofessional in all business aspects. Poor communication skills and bad billing practices.

I'm not sure what the 1's were about, I've seen them for years and have nothing but good things to say.

I've been seeing Neil for over a year and my wife has been seeing Gretchen for longer than that, we are both very happy with the care we've received. I've found it really useful to have an aide for pointing out my blind spots, helping me understand my emotions, and providing me with tools to help change my mental health for the better. I'm now convinced that everyone should receive counseling by a licensed practitioner, whether you think you have issues or not.

I always look forward to my time with Gretchen. I appreciate how her Christian values and psychology education come together to birth practical counsel. She is warm and approachable which makes me feel safe to be vulnerable during our time together. I hope their practice continues to grow so her gifting can be shared with those who seek wise counsel.
