New River Healing Arts
I started New River Healing Arts to help you achieve health, well-being, and vitality. Located in between Blacksburg and Christiansburg, Virginia, NRHA offers acupuncture, massage therapy, Tuina (traditional Chinese massage), and nutritional information. Whether you are seeking relief from stress, freedom from pain or fatigue, enhanced fertility, or help managing allergies, I am intent on helping you realize your health and wellness goals.

I take the time to listen to all your problems and concerns, so I can provide you with individualized care. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or wish to set up an appointment for acupuncture or massage.
Services
Before your first acupuncture session, you will need to fill out some paperwork, providing contact information and information about your past and present medical conditions. This information helps me provide you the best care I can. Additionally, you will need to sign a consent form. Once the paperwork is completed, I will ask you to tell me more about the reason for your visit.
Prior to your session, abstain from eating foods that might color your tongue like artificially colored foods, coffee, etc. Avoid stimulants like coffee in close proximity to your treatment, but if you are on medication, please take your doses on schedule. For a couple hours prior to and following your treatment it is advisable to avoid activities that might shift your body's attention away from the treatment.
While many people are aware that acupuncture is helpful in reducing pain, they often are not aware that it does much more. To put Chinese medicine in perspective, realize that acupuncture and herbal medicine were primary care in ancient China and were used to treat infections, injuries, and chronic diseases.
Before your first massage, you will need to fill out some paperwork to provide contact information and information about your past and present medical conditions. Additionally, you will need to sign a consent form. You may want to arrive a few minutes early to fill these out, or if you would like to feel these out ahead of time, I can email them to you.
The New River Healing Arts clinic is located in downtown Blacksburg in the New River Valley. It is easily reached from other areas in the New River Valley. It is only 15 minutes from Christiansburg and about a half an hour from Radford. There is often street parking available, but I recommend using the parking lot behind the building, as the NRHA entrance is on the rear.

Greg is the best in the area! Whatever you need, just a relaxing massage or to fix a killing pain in your body, he is the person to go to! He helped me with health problems doctors were doing nothing about. Additionally, he was able to fix really sharp back pain that I could barely walk after just one session!!! Really attentive and careful about his patients. Recommend everyone!

I’ve been receiving bodywork from Greg for the last couple of years on a monthly basis ~ he’s my go-to to keep my body in shape. He has an easy, and extremely skilled, way that fixes whatever ailment my body is experiencing on any given day. I look forward to each session and always leave feeling better than when I arrived!

Greg is simply THE man. I've been with him for three appointments so far. As a division 1 college swimmer who puts in a lot of hours working my body to its potential, I wanted to get a sense for Accupuncture (especially since my shoulder has been bugging me and other massage places couldn't fix it). It took a couple of appointments, but I felt the progression after each one. You definitely get the best bang for you buck here.

I had shoulder, neck and leg pains which were making me tired and uneasy. I had a session with Greg where he inquired and implemented my request. I can say without a doubt Greg is professional and top in his skills. I highly recommend Greg.

I came in with a pulled back that hurt so, so badly. He took an in depth medical history, mapped out his treatment plan, and gave me a very therapeutic hour and a half massage that helped my pain at least 70%. The relief was incredible, and he is very skilled at what he does. I initially went in for a massage and acupuncture and after my massage, he told me I should heal a bit before trying acupuncture just yet. He was very honest when he could have easily taken the money and did the acupuncture anyway. I will certainly be returning!

Greg is very gifted and skilled. He has a diverse understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system, which he uses to incorporate an array of techniques to improve any ailments you may have. Greg does not jump into treating ailments, but pieces together your history to get insight regarding where the symptoms may be arising from. Since starting with Greg, I have been able to get back into more intense exercise and am able to function in my day to day life. He is incredible!

I have quite a lot of experience with acupuncturists in several different states, and Greg Bryson is the best one from whom I have ever received treatment. His level of knowledge and skill are simply incredible, and he is conscientious and possesses a fantastic bedside manner and awareness of his patients' needs. He has helped me with numerous issues, but to me the most impressive is this: when I first went in, I was having to urinate about once every half an hour to once an hour due to chronic kidney inflammation secondary to drug induced lupus. After just a couple of sessions, that was

The most important review I can give about Greg and the New River Healing Arts, is that I have recommended him to several close friends and family members. I started going to Greg a couple years ago for lower back pain, which has been resolved. Now I go for relaxing massages or occasional acupuncture sessions as maintenance. I appreciate Greg's professionalism and willingness to provide resources or research information related to topics we discussed. Compared to other massage or acupuncture practitioners in the area, Greg is far superior in his healing techniques and relaxation massages.

He treated me for some back problems I have and man oh man my back has never felt better! Definitely not your typical "spa" massage treatment, but if you're looking for someone to work out the muscle kinks, this is the place to go! Not only did he massage me, but stretched me and really took time to make sure all my tension was relieved. And for an hour of this, only $60? I was in heaven. My back truly hasn't felt this good since before I had problems, I highly recommend.

I started going to Greg Bryson at New River Healing Arts after a recent motorcycle accident.
Before seeing Greg, I suffered from bad pain in my low back and hip. I was limping around and could only go up stairs by pulling myself up using a railing. Greg talked with me in depth about my injuries and medical history. He treated me with some deep massage work and acupuncture. I felt so much better when done, my mood was much lighter and I felt in better spirits. That evening I was able to climb the stairs to my house with no problems. The following day I noticed that much of the bruising to my body

Greg has a wonderful way of making me feel relaxed, comfortable and a part of the treatment. Unlike the typical prescribed instructions for chronic pain, Greg will discuss and contemplate the source of the issue with you to determine what the appropriate treatment may be, whether it is massage, acupuncture, stretching, lifestyle changes, etc. I have visited twice for relief in my lower back after a previous bike accident, and he has helped me beyond anything I could imagine. I think I am well on my way to recovery!
