1st time coming to this place. My son and I walked in. We were looking at the menu for about 5 minutes. As were getting ready to order. An employee asked if we had masks . Mind you we were already in the place looking at the menu and then had seen us. I replied that no we didn't. I asked if they had any and they didn't. I was told I needed to have a mask or we could call 8n an order and pick it up. I looked at my son and we walked out.

Was disappointed today dined in with my family and all of us thought the food tasted a little off the eggs also smelled bad, I'm leaving 2 stars because customer service was great our server/ cashier was very kind and helpful! The food wasn't good at all I won't be back again. Sad to say because i used to love going here with my grandma before she passed.

Came to San Diego just to get some more of this Deli! They have everything, and it's all amazing. The dinner sized steaks and eggs with pancakes in the morning is my favorite. However... Their chiquillies is amazing as well. My brother, the local, swears by them. Enjoy yourself outside on the corner and watch some cool cars go by and breathe the cool air. A staple and a place I always visit at least once.

I used to love this deli, but recently there quality has gone downhill. I called in 4 sandwhiches over a weekend. 3 were made incorrectly. When i called about the sandwhiches, I was told that they would remake them if i wanted to come back during the week. I went back today to get the remakes and was told that isnt their process and next time i'll know. (dont get mad at me for your employee mistake) Here is your food and we included extra sauce and there is sauce in the sandwhiches. I ask if the remake comes with fries, "no we are just remaking the sandwhiches" , no problem, i'd like to buy some

Bad experience all the way around. The woman behind the counter was sick as a dog sneezing all over the place. When she spoke you could tell she had a sore throat this was not a smokers cough she was clearly sick. Also When I ordered my food I was told the total was 22$ and some change but when I got there I was charged 26$
with no explanation I even asked for a receipt and she just showed me the screen while people were standing in line were getting impatient I couldn't read it so I just let it be and left.. BUT WAIT THERES MORE .. I got home and the sandwiches were on the wrong kinds of bread

Got 2 wraps from here, potato salad and a French toast. Potato salad was bland and tasted weird and my French toast was bland and dry lol. California wrap had so much tomatoes that felt like I was eating a tomato wrap. The chicken chipotle wrap had all the cheese at the end of my wrap lol. Would not recommend this place but I'll have to come back to try the rest of the food here...

You know I generally like to go to a place a few times before I write a review. Sunrise has not disappointed me yet. I've some of the sandwiches, but usually breakfast. This Casa de Oro omelette I just had was delicious. I've had it more than once. Cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions covered in a creamy jalapeño sauce. Flat out yumsters! Sorry I ate some of it before I took the picture. The giant bowl of fruit was a substitute for potatoes. I could barely finish it. Fresh and delicious! Go! Definitely recommended!

I stopped by here thinking it looked good. Huge menu with lots of good looking items, but after being rushed to order and getting charged for a side that I didn't order, I waited 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches... maybe there is a time and place where this would be a better experience but my one occurrence was horrible.

Good food, when you can get it. Multiple times I've called and they ask to hold, then proceed to set the phone down for literally 10+ minutes while they take in-person orders, talk and do God knows what else.
Half the time when I do place an order, it is somehow messed up or given to the wrong person and it becomes an hour-long ordeal to pick up a dang burger.
I'm throwing away my to-go menu as a symbolic gesture. It used to be great before they sold the place. What a shame.

We used Sunrise Deli for catering over Labor Day weekend. Ordered 20 sandwiches. They were packaged perfectly and tasted wonderful. Ready for pick up exactly on time. It's nice to support a local business rather than a large corporate sandwich shop. Would definitely recommend and use again in the future.

I miss the good old days when the food was better! I've been eating here for 16 years and I'm afraid it's time to stop. My list of items that are no longer as good as they used to be kept growing. The one that pushed me over the edge was the burger I got last time. My grandmother, my girlfriend, and I ordered burgers and we couldn't even figure out how they could get so bad. The color was off, the flavor was terrible, and the texture was not like any burger I've ever had (not in a good way). I was seriously worried about getting sick. Fish & Chips - brought to the table with obviously burned fish. My wife does not like to make a fuss so she didn't send it back. Burned breading and undercooked fish inside - YUK!
Turkey, avocado and provolone - dry (stale) sourdough bread, wilted lettuce and processed turkey, again YUK!
Potato salad - hard potatoes and watery sauce - YUK X 3!
Both plates were garnished with dried out, very thin, slices of watermelon

It's hard for me to rate this because as good as Sunrise Deli is....it is not worth the price. I've noticed every single time I have ordered the SAME EXACT thing they always make it different and miss ingredients. Sometimes they put chicken and sometimes they don't. It's like nothing I order is ever the same it's made different every time. Additionally my main issue is nothing is ever priced correctly. On their website is one amount, and in store it's different? I ordered three 11$ plates from their online menu thru the phone and was charged $47?!!! When last time

In all, pretty disappointed in my visit. I was amazed at how large their menu is and wondered how the kitchen could handle it, and I guess the truth is they can't (or they can, but barely). Waited 50 minutes for my food dining in, and didn't hear any update during that time. Once it did arrive, we were told there was a "new cook today" which...I don't know how to take considering the place was nearly packed with people either dining in or getting to go orders.

It's been a while since I've eaten here. I stopped on because the place I normally go to up the street was not open for some reason. In the end, I was glad I did because I experienced a much better eating experience than I had in the past.
I had the protein breakfast burrito which came with bacon, ham, sausage, grated hash browns, eggs, and cheese. As a result, it was quite the large burrito. It came with plenty of the ingredients and was cooked properly. I would like to see a little more seasoning on the eggs and to crisp of those hash browns for better texture.

My chicken was definitely not cooked fully. The chicken Cesar salad looked great but the chicken was cold and rubbery. My kids had burgers which were good and cooked. I’m upset because the price was just shy of $50 but I can’t eat my food because of it not being cooked thoroughly. I took all the chicken out to cut into it and it was all bad.

Sunrise Deli has a lot of options to choose from whether you looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It was quite busy and seems to be a popular spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating and parking can be challenging! Good customer service and clean establishment.
We stopped by for lunch and tried out their Philly sandwich and Pastrami sandwich.
Philly ~ had good flavor but was very light on the meat compared to the bread ratio. It only comes with grilled onions and cheese.
Pastrami ~ had a lot more meat than the Philly sandwich. Meat is hot but sub is not considered a hot sub as it is not toasted

So, I was craving a sandwich, and this place was rated a top place in the area. It's definitely a small nit spot. Food is pretty good, definitely has that deli, east coast, community, city, corner street vibe. I got the Boston Beef Special. It wasn't bad. The coleslaw was a little over empowering though. The menu is pretty big, with a wide selection to choose from. It was pretty busy, when I was there. Seats were definitely taken up. But, customer service was really nice.
