Find out about our exclusive leasing option, putting the best hearing aids within your reach! We are Delaware's longest continually operating hearing aid dispensing practice. We were founded in 1932 by Israel Handelman. Originally located in the city of Wilmington, the practice moved to the Talleyville Shopping Center at the corner of Concord Pike and Silverside Road when the Plaza opened in the 1960s.
He purchased the practice from the Handelman family in 2010 and has transformed the practice into Brandywine Hearing Center. We moved within the Plaza at the beginning of 2017 into a larger, redesigned office space. We now offer a more spacious hearing testing suite and state of the art testing and hearing aid fitting equipment.

Services
To allow our customers the option of purchasing or leasing their hearing aids after a 21-day trial period. Brandywine Hearing Center provides audiological evaluations, hearing aid fitting, adjustments and repairs, assistive listening devices, custom earmolds and custom hearing protection. We work with all major hearing aid manufacturers.
Since the various systems produce different hearing impressions, it is important for you to make a comparison yourself. For this purpose we will produce custom-made earmolds based on the exact contours of your ears. We can then ensure that your hearing aid fits perfectly. Scheduled and performed by a licensed and experienced hearing healthcare professional.
An audiological evaluation is done to determine if a hearing loss is present and, if so, to detail the type and severity of the hearing loss. It also may provide insight into the cause of the hearing loss as well as provide guidance for the audiologist in making appropriate treatment recommendations- or referrals to other professionals.
Sudden or prolonged exposure to noise can cause damage to your hearing and is one of the leading causes of hearing loss. Hearing loss from prolonged noise exposure is often detected too late, meaning the hearing loss is usually irreversible. Hearing protection is extremely important for anyone who is regularly in a high-noise environment, including target shooters, motorcyclists, pilots, musicians, construction workers and factory workers.
There are several steps that are part of a hearing aid evaluation. If you suspect that you might need a hearing aid, you will first need to have a hearing evaluation. At the time of the hearing evaluation, a case history will be taken to determine how much your hearing problem impacts your day-to-day life as well as the lives of your family.

I can’t say enough good things about Brandywine Hearing Center. Working with Audiologist Michael Michelli was a pleasure. Both my husband and I needed new hearing aids, and Michael worked with us to be sure we were absolutely satisfied with the hearing aids we chose. He patiently answered all our questions, and made sure we understood his recommendations. If you need hearing aids, this is definitely the place to go. Excellent knowledge and outstanding service.

Over the years I have had behind the ears hearing aids that were OK except I never had a satisfactory fit in my ears, even with ear pieces molded expressly to fit properly. And the audiologists all told me only behind the ear type aids were for me. Until Michael suggested I try a custom molded In the Canal aid. WHAT AN AMAZING IMPROVEMENT AND FIT! I can't speak highly enough about the Hearing Center. And believe me, I don't rave. If there were another star, I'd rate it six stars!

As a first-time hearing aid user, I was thrilled to have them be rechargable and to learn of Dr. Mike's commitment to service. Since Covid-19 has kept me out of crowded spaces with lots of background noise, we weren't able to test the settings for that, but he assures me that he'll work with me either remotely or in person to get them adjusted, if necessary. He is a great teacher, too, explaining the tests, the instruments, their use and care.

After earlier not so successful attempts to use hearing aids purchased through Costco, my husband and I decided to try the Brandywine Hearing Center. It has been the difference between night and day. These hearing aids are so much better and the quality of the service we are receiving is outstanding. Dr. Michael is so professional, knowledgeable, patient and kind. We couldn't be more pleased. This is one of the best health-related decisions we have made. We recommend the Brandywine Hearing Center highly.

Shopping for hearing aides for our elderly mother was challenging on many levels. The staff at Brandywine Hearing are professional, patient and were willing to guide us as we explored all of our options. My mother compared their in-ear aides to other “behind the ear” and “in-ear” options from various vendors and we are confident that our decision to buy from BHC was the right choice. The continued service and support has been fantastic. My entire family highly recommend BHC. Alexis and Michael are an absolute pleasure to work with!!

I'm writing this review on behalf of my father who is very old and has been used by this facility. He's a vet and would never complain about the hearing aids he would be given from here. He came back over and over to have the hearing aids they gave him fixed. They would constantly break and give massive feedback which I could hear myself across the room. These hearing aids were not only $6,000 but were cutting the inside of one of his ears as well. The cutting caused a visible abrasion. We went back to the center to get some help and we were told that he needed to pay for "additional

These folks are great! I'm a working musician and wanted a set of custom earplugs; the kind that are custom-fit for my ears, and with swappable dB reduction filters depending on how much volume reduction you want. I made an appointment, and they hooked me right up. Easy, painless, fun process, and the staff were great to work with.
Yay!
