Maxine Young is a dually certified, licensed Doctor of Audiology and speech-language pathologist who has a private practice in the Philadelphia suburbs. Dr. Young received her Master's degrees from Hahnemann Medical School and her doctoral degree (AuD) from Salus University where she is an Adjunct Instructor.
Following her professional career as part of a group neurology practice, she established her private practice in 1992. Her research interests are presently focused in two areas: 1) Gifted Dyslexics and 2) The learning consequences of childhood otitis media.

The service descriptions provided on this and the other service description pages are intended to give a general overview of the service. They cannot go into every detail of each of the services. A comprehensive audiological evaluation includes several tests of the auditory system. A measure of hearing sensitivity is conducted in a sound calibrated room, through earphones.
The Education Service descriptions provided below are intended to give a general overview of the service. For more information please contact the office. Schools may approve independent evaluations (auditory language processing evaluations) to determine whether auditory and/or language-processing deficits are contributing to a child's school behaviors and performance.
