Established in 1968, Field Custom English Tailors is the home of Savile Row bespoke tailoring in Washington D.C. We provide fully bespoke custom clothing, including suits, overcoats, sport coats, shooting jackets, dinner suits, waistcoats, and trousers. We also provide custom shirts and will perform alterations on non-custom clothing. Whether your suit has "shrunk in the closet" or you've been enjoying an all lettuce diet, the House of Field will be able to accommodate your wardrobe requirements.

Bespoke clothing is a term used to describe garments that have been made to the client's specifications rather than the "off the rack" approach to most clothing purchased today. From measuring to sewing to fitting, your bespoke garment will be made to fit your unique shape.
Many so-called "custom" tailors outsource the actual construction of their garments to an outside clothing factory, a practice which usually results in clothing of inferior fit and construction.At Field Custom English Tailors, we create all of our garments in our Washington D.C. shop. Because we work locally, we are able to invite our clients back for multiple fitting as their garment is being created.

Field English Custom Tailors will be happy to alter your existing clothing, whether it is a custom garment or something off the rack. We are able to perform many complex alterations that most other tailors typically cannot. Note that alterations may require a longer wait since, as with our bespoke clothing, all work is done in-house.

I became aware of Mr. Field's establishment in the late eighties from several friends who thoroughly appreciate their services. I always planned on stopping in but never did until recently. I had an unusual request to repair a piece of tactical gear that couldn't be replaced and I was out of options.
Mr. Field brought it back to better than new condition. I expect it to last another 30 years.
