I had high hopes for this room as I saw multiple positive reviews when booking but that was 100% misleading as our room was anywhere near a positive experience. Our room was utterly disgusting with filthy floors, walls, shower area, and ceilings. The shower was molded and needed a thorough clean. The fridge was caked with mold and had a stench. The garbage can had layers of food & dirt. The ceiling fan was crusted with dust- we were unable to turn on due to the amount of dust and grime on it. We had a later check in- so when we had time to process the room; there was no one in the office and when

Staff was friendly and it had a kitchen. That’s all that was good. Had a hard time using the key to enter and when we got in the rooms they were crammed. There was a screwdriver left on the table along with nails. The beds were uncomfortable and you could see scuff marks on the mattress covers. There was no outlet in one room and you couldn’t walk because there was too much furniture crammed in it. The shower was made of all tile and no light to see while in the shower. I wore flip flops so I wouldn’t slide. The toilet was so close to the toilet paper holder you had to sit slightly sideways

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Sifting Sands. Our room was average sized and very functional with plenty of shelves, lots of hooks for towels and bathing suits and and a well stocked kitchenette. The table with chairs was helpful too. Lots of outlets.
We found it clean. Location was excellent.

I regularly visit Ocean City NJ during the summertime and last week I stayed at the Sifting Sands Motel. I’ve frequented this establishment in the past but this year, the company’s management changed - all for the worst, unfortunately.
The staff (and front desk in particular) were absolutely awful. The front desk receptionist was not only rude and ignorant but downright unprofessional and incompetent. I stayed only for one night but that was enough for me to write this review and highly recommend that no one ever stay at that motel.
I was charged an additional $50 without explanation. When

The room was good for what we needed for our vacation! It was a close walk to the boardwalk and many delicious restaurants, but the room was meh. Much smaller than anticipated, WiFi signal was poor and the bathroom could barely fit me. Location is perfect, the rest? Not as much. But we appreciate the motel having us :)

I've visited OCNJ each and every summer and never before have I experienced such a horrific stay as my most recent this summer.
I have stayed at the Sifting Sands many summers but this year, 2021, the motel was under new management. I will NEVER frequent that motel again.
The new management and front desk, in particular, were extremely rude, impatient and dismissive. I will never recommend anyone to visit or patronize the Sifting Sands Motel ever again; nor will I ever personally stay there ever again.

Love this place! What a great location, the pool is heated and only a few blocks from the beach. We have come here for the past 5 years, and are never disappointed. The rooms are very well laid out, and they have suites for all family sizes..This Sifting Sands is so welcoming and makes for a great summer vacation!

The staff friendly. The location great. Room was clean. Price is right if you stay during the week.
With all that being said the bed was a bit uncomfortable. The shower was small. And the A/C had a tough time keeping the room at a comfortable setting. The increased pricing for a weekend stay (which most all of the hotels incur) is not justifiable. The room was small but not uncomfortably small. Not smoker friendly. The management insists you walk off property to smoke and smoking in your vehicle is a no-no.
I guess I would stay again if I had no other options as was the case this particular time

First day we came in these ants were EVERYWHERE. Even had a few crawling on my girlfriend when she woke up. 2 days later the manager asked me to move my car while it was pouring down rain. Few minutes later a car parked in the same spot and remained there all day. There was no reason to move my car at the time and got soaking wet because of it.

The distance to the boardwalk was perfect. I feel like the shower was too small for an average sized person, same with the toilet, it was pretty low and not very roomy for leg space. We had high police activity at the hotel while we were there. The people were really friendly and helpful. The room itself was an average fairly priced room at the shore is expected to be. I reserved a room with 1 queen bed and we got a room with 2 beds. Which was nice and I felt like goldilocks as one bed was too hard and the other was too soft. All jokes aside if I wanted to stay at a place close to the boards and

Our condo had a great layout, was very clean and we loved the separate bedroom. The location was perfect, close to the beach, boardwalk and Asbury shopping. Any concerns we had were immediately taken care of by Jean, the manager. Pleashette, the head housekeeper was amazing!! The pool was great and we were able to use the pool and parking beyond our check out time on our last day. Bianca at the front desk was also very helpful. To add to the convenience parking and beach tags were included.

My kids and I stayed. The desk staff and owner? were very nice and friendly. The room was clean and very cute. The bathroom was spacious. The only downside was that I went on a whim without any research and did not know that the whole entire boardwalk and attractions were shut down (this was Easter weekend I believe). So that was my fault. I'll likely return when the boardwalk is up and running.

I just checked out of this hotel the room was completely filthy the tv didn't work right the silverware was dirty and looks like I has not been updated since the 1950,s ripped up lamp shades a used bar of soap in the shower the owner has to be shameless to rent there rooms out to family's our room was not ready when we arrived and the desk checked named norm seem to get pleasure in seeing me my wife and my granddaughter waiting in the rain for hours for the room to be ready even though it was ready from the second we arrived no one worked on that room the whole time we were there

As all rooms are different, I'm giving this rating based off of room #7. For a couple this was a great room at a great price. Everything seems fairly new and the room was very clean. The bathroom was a little small but this was not an issue. The only reason I give this room 4/5 is the stiff bed. Some might find the layout of this room a bit cramped but to me it was quite cozy. Staff is super friendly and the location is great. I would definitely stay here again, it's an excellent value

The Sifting Sands is not a resort and quite far from it, so it should only be considered a last resort option.
My husband and I found ourselves in need of a last minute hotel room on a very busy off-season weekend in Ocean City. Less than a week prior to our stay, we found a cancelation through our event's hotel reservation service. Since we knew we needed a one night reservation in a certain area, we weren't picky. Based on the phone calls I made prior to finding this room, most Ocean City properties require multiple night stays.
So there wasn't noticeable new dirt in room 42

Our home was damaged in Hurricane Sandy, so we were clueless about hotels in the area. We looked into a bunch of them, and this one had the most decent rates and had good reviews.
Our first weekend stay in 2013 was very nice. We had a large room with a bedroom, large bathroom, futon and a kitchen with a full fridge. It was a great room (although it did smell a little like someone had been smoking).
Our second weekend stay was in 2014 and we planned it about two weeks in advance and got a room no problem. This time the room was much smaller and less quality (but same price) as the room we had

This place is amazing! I had to book a bunch of rooms for a youth group trip to Ocean City, and after calling around to many of the hotels in the area, it became quickly obvious that this was the best option by far. The owner (?) Arnie bent over backwards to help us get this set up, gave us an unbelievable rate and was incredibly nice and helpful. Because the rate he gave us was so out of this world, I was afraid it would be a total dump, but figured the youth group wouldn't care too much, and it was only for 1 night anyways.
We checked in, and I looked at almost all the rooms and they are
