Sparring gear is mandatory for all students participating in sparring activities. While we provide a controlled and safe environment, sparring gear must be worn at all time as extra precaution to avoid accidental injuries. Most of these items can be bought on the internet or super store like Walmart.

Great gym, plenty of space and machines. Wonderful friendly staff that also take the mask mandate seriously and enforce it. The majority of people follow the rules and wear their masks, but there's a minority that try and play games. Just flag these selfish jerks and management will be on them - a few people have had their memberships suspended for repeatedly unmasking. So if you've been someone concerned about returning to a gym due to COVID, CAC Anthenaeum is about as good as it gets.

CAC is a wonderful gym, with incredibly helpful staff. You can tell a lot about a gym based on how they treat your cancellation. I unfortunately had to cancel because I moved away, but they treated me perfectly with respect, and made the process painless. 10/10 would recommend

CAC has been my favorite gym for about 4 years. On top of having a good range of equipment and services, the place is clean. Like really clean. It's always been clean, but they have taken a lot of extra steps to make the place safe for a 2020 world. Lots of wipes and hand sanitizer within reach everywhere. Spaces clearly marked out around benches and weights. Plastic shields between cardio equipment. Well ventilated. Big signs everywhere explaining what's safe. Again, CAC has always provided a higher level gym experience. But it's nice to see them keeping up with required changes.

Location, price and equipment is great. Friendly staff. Never have to wait long to use something. Towel service.
Weakest point would be the shower/locker room. It's fine and is clean, but I've seen nicer, more modern facilities.
Very happy with my decision to join and I'd recommend it to anyone, particularly if you work or live in the area. Thanks!

Great staff, amazing squash group instructor, the Body Pump classes are really good. I haven’t tried all classes but there are many and the ones I’ve done I like. I like having a women’s only exercise room mostly because sometimes it can be empty (off-peak hours) and the 5am-midnight unstaffed location is nice for when I end up working out really late. Carla resolved all my membership questions very easily, this gym does not try to make it tough to quit if you need to, she made the process super easy when I wanted to quit, then decided to stay for another month or so (no longer best location

I have been practicing here since I moved to Cambridge in 2015. Great place, love the community, and the exercise.
I have tried out a brazilian jiu jitsu place in Worcester and a Tae Kwon Do place in Boston, Cambridge was my favorite. For the price and the people it was worth it.
Note: When choosing a martial art it is very subjective based on what you want to get out of it. For me, I wanted to hone some self-defense skills, get exercise and have fun. I don't ever see myself stepping into the octagon to challenge a professional UFC fighter. These guys spend their days not only studying

My seven year old son joined this school about six months ago. We thought it would be great for his confidence and self discipline. I can not enough good things about this place. Master Klacko and the other instructors are great with the kids. Every single kids gets individual attention from them. The atmosphere is great. Kids loves to be there. We can see the positive effect it made in my sons behavior.

I joined Tang Soo Do for fitness and also because I've always been interested in Martial Arts. My first trial class was great. The teacher, the students were all welcoming. Master Klacko, Master Duva give personal attention to every student and since I was new I was taught separately by another black belt so I can understand the basics. The good thing about Tang Soo Do is that it is not just karate. It's a martial arts created for military in Korea and that's why it makes you do all kinds of stretching, kicks, punches, defence, use of weapons etc. I've learnt new things in every

I have been practicing at Cambridge Tang Soo Do now for around five years and there is not one critique that I can recall. This is literally in my humble opinion the best martial arts school in the Boston area.
The two things that I most like about Cambridge Tang Soo Do are:
The depth of knowledge of the instructors is impressive! The ratio of senior black belts to junior students allows for excellent personalized instruction. Master Klacko provides for a great and balanced atmosphere that is not only rewarding and challenging but also stimulating. Thus, the school attracts a great group

If you are looking to practice a traditional martial art, then this is your place. Master Klacko is an excellent teacher, being both friendly and knowledgeable and welcomes anyone who wants to learn into his school.
It should be noted that this school is nonprofit, and all of the instructors have day jobs. They teach because they all truly love the art and want to pass it along to those who want to learn. This is not to put down any of the reputable for-profit martial arts studios in the area, but it is just one of the things that makes Cambridge TSD different.
