My name is Gee, but when I am caking I go by Suzy Q! I have been rocking cakes since I was 4 years old! Even when I was little, I was never a fan of store bought cakes. So, I made it my mission to make cakes taste as good as they looked. I have spent the last eight years perfecting my recipes and sharing my creations with friends, coworkers and family.
Pretty soon they couldn't get enough and the word spread. People I didn't even know started offering to pay me to provide cakes for their parties and events. These cakes are SO SO good! We decided to go with Gelia for our wedding cakes and after doing the tasting I am hooked. Every year for my birthday all I ask for is one of her cakes. They're delicious and super cute too! Gelia went above and beyond with all that we asked, providing not only cakes and cupcakes, but lemon bars and chocolate covered pretzels and cake pop favors too! Everyone loved them.

Prompt at getting back to me, but overall very disappointed in the product. I ordered a cake pops to display my child-to-be's name and she emails me at 7:30pm the night before my 9am pickup the next morning and basically tells me she only provides the cake pops and they won't be propped up in a display. Okaaaaaay. She really should have made that clear as I could've spent my money somewhere else and gotten what I asked for. Her comment was most people buy their own display. I had the best experience ordering a baby shower cake for a virtual shower. I'm not from the area and wasn't sure where to go or if the person would be reliable. Gelia was a pleasure to work with! She got back to me right away and sent me several cute ideas. She had a ton of different flavors to choose from. I wish that I could have tried the cake she made in person! My friend said it was delicious. She absolutely loved it and was so surprised that it was so pretty. Gelia also delivered it! Highly recommended her/Suzy Q Cakes.

Last year, I looked for someone who could make my husband a F1 Ferrari cake but didn't have much luck. This year, I thought of the idea again (very last minute) and sent Gelia an inquiry not expecting anything to come of it. From looking at Yelp and IG, she looked very skilled! Gelia is so on top of it. She responded very quickly, and I let her know that I needed it for Sunday (I asked her 4 days before the event!) She said that wouldn't be a problem. This place makes amazing cakes!! Giulia was so easy to communicate with and she did my sons cake exactly like the pictures I sent! She also delivered it, which was an added perk! I had an incredibly positive experience working with Suzy Q Cakes! I live abroad in Portugal, and wanted to surprise my dad with something special for his 60th since he'd be celebrating in isolation due to Covid-19. I did my research on what bakeries were around the Carlsbad area, and I was blown away by Suzy Q's creativity and quality.
