For over 50 years Kyuki-Do Martial Arts has been training kids and working with families in the Elgin area. Originally Kim's Black Belt Academy, Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin has been the leading martial arts academy in Elgin, IL since 1968. Our martial arts school focuses on enriching the lives of each and every child, adult, and family that walks through our doors.

Martial arts is about a lot more than kicking and punching. As a member of Kyuki-Do Martial Arts, children and adults benefit from our trainings because we focus on building confidence and discipline in all our members, while also teaching critical life skills. This Program is designed to address core childhood development skills such as, Listening, Coordination, and Self-Control for 3 and 4 year olds.
Services
Young children learn best by following the actions and behaviors they see around them. Martial arts helps set a foundation of positive behavior expectations and our classes provide structure, focus, and discipline. Our Elgin martial arts classes will help improve your child's listening skills so they can get better at following directions the first time.
We're not just tooting our horn, we hear it from kids and parents on a daily basis. Fun is fun, but that's not the only reason that martial arts classes are recommended for children around 5 and 6 years old. Your child will learn to work in groups while also working to master individual skills and techniques.
Martial arts classes are built on a foundation of courtesy, humility, integrity and self-control. These foundational elements develop and shape shy kids into confident leaders. Our Elgin Kyuki-Do martial arts classes will improve your child's confidence and discipline while also providing a great physical activity to build strength, self-defense skills, and self-control.

My 3 children have been students at Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin for the past 2 years, working through their black belt leadership program. My kids range in age from 16 - 7 years, 2 girls and a boy, and I love that they are able to train together in this program as they learn from each other's strengths and help support each other in their weaknesses. They train alongside both kids and adults, and this creates an environment where all are equal and deserving of respect. The staff and instructors here show that they are invested and care about each of the students, children and adults, and that

My 6 year old has been here for 90 days and his focus, attention, and self confidence have improved greatly. Master Steinmaier and his team of instructors do a fantastic job holding kids accountable, and instilling life skills that go beyond learning the art of Kyuki-Do. As a parent I love that shaking hands, addressing people by their names, being on time, reminding kids to look people in their eyes while communicating, having the students earn their belts by demonstrating they learned it and not just showing up, and speaking proudly is the culture they teach. My son is learning Kyuki-Do, and

This is such a great place for kids to grow physically and emotionally the only regret I have is not starting sooner. Great group of encouraging people and great families all with the same goals. If you are looking for a Martial Arts in the Elgin area I recommend you going to kyuki-Do Martial Arts in Elgin on McLean & College Green. All the instructors are wonderful and you won't be disappointed. My son has been here for 2-1/2 year's and has improved so much in school, confidence & motivation and they have grown to be part of our family. This is the first sport my son is comfortable with.

As parents of an active toddler, we were looking for something for him to burn energy in a fun environment. At Kyukido of Elgin, we got so much more. Our now 7-yr old son learned discipline, respect, confidence, commitment, among so many other strengths that have grown his character, and is evident at home, school, and other environments. He desires to be a black belt! We moved out of the area and drive about 45-60 min to attend, and feel it is completely worth it! There truly is nothing like it where the student not only gets a good physical workout, but grows in their character development learning

My 3 year old started in the 3/4 program this past winter and he loves it! The instructors are fantastic with the young kids. They have a way of getting a whole group of 3 and 4 year olds to listen and follow instructions which is already impressive. I was shocked that each time we went, they remembered all of our names and warmly greeted us. I never felt like we were just another 'member paying the fee.' I feel like their program is well worth the cost and I highly recommend!!

Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin has had a very positive influence in our lives. My son was the first to start after someone at the daycare attacked him. From there, we started training as well. It has truly been a life changing decision for the better. The instructors are amazing, and they care greatly for all of the students.

I started training in the Kyuki-Do several years ago.The instructors are top notch and really care about your individual development. Their attention to detail and patience are phenomenal! A family atmosphere and a true feeling of camaraderie. Kyuki-Do started in 1968 and has a rich history. It’s taught thousands of students over the years. The longevity of this style speaks to the quality of the art and its instructors. Please give them a shot, you will not be disappointed..

Joining Kyuki-Do Martial Arts was one of the best decisions we ever made as a family. It started out with my son, and a few months later, my wife and I joined. It was not long after that my daughter has signed up. It is fun to train as a family. We have learned so much about ourselves and have made many long lasting friendships with people who share the same love of Martial Arts.

Great school for families to train in. This is the place to go if you're ACTUALLY looking fit your kids and or yourself to learn some discipline defensive show and exercise. they have a core philosophy of keeping students sweating smiling and learning. Works Great for me not sure what else I'd be doing without martial arts in my life
