Academy Ballet School of Annapolis (ABSA) follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus for classical ballet training and offers the finest teaching curriculum for classical ballet, character dance, and lyrical free movement dance. The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world's most influential dance education and training organisations. We promote knowledge, understanding and practice of dance internationally. We seek to accomplish this through promoting dance, educating and training students and teachers and providing examinations to set standards and reward achievement.
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) offer an internationally recognized portfolio of examinations designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability. They offer examination programs to suit all, from students just beginning ballet, to those who wish to pursue a career in dance.
Our teachers are certified with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and are required to complete a training program to prepare experienced students for annual RAD examinations.
Founder and Artistic Director of ABSA, Eileen Razzetti's ballet training and professional performing experience took place in New York City at the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo Ballet School, the Yurek Lazowski School for Character Dance, and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet School.She also earned a degree in design from the Fashion Institute of Technology at the State University of New York.

Contact your teacher for more information. We require the Freed canvas character shoes with elastic ankle strap. Classical Ballet 1-3 wears the low heel, and Classical Ballet 4 and up wear the cuban heel. We recommend the Bloch Tensus Demi Pointe Shoe for Classical Ballet 3 Pre-Pointe class and Vocational Examinations.
There are two student name spaces available if you have more than one dancer in your family taking an exam. Please also provide us with a mailing address where we can mail you the Royal Academy of Dance examination certificate that your dancer will receive over the summer. Upon submission of the online form, you will be redirected to our Square Payment page, where you must pay the exam registration fee online.
