China Hut

Orange flavored beef VG, Seafood delight deceptive, Shrimp great. Scallops seemed great. Crab (legs) fake & abundant & NG. Threw them out. What’s supposed to be lobster was tiny shrimp. Good, but deceptive. Vegetables, rice & egg rolls great. Stay away from anything with crab or lobster & you should be good. I’d rather have the dish with these items left out or pay more for the real thing.

The worst Chinese I've ever had. Our dog wouldn't even eat it. I would of been better off burning a 50.00 dollar bill.

I love Asian cuisine and decided to give this place a try after grocery shopping. I was so disappointed. I ordered the Mongolian chicken and pork fried rice along with a spring roll. All choices were very bland, mushy and oily. We will not be returning.

VERY Mixed Review!

First the Positive:
The Crab Rangoon is very good. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Well seasoned but could use more crab.

Now for the Negative:
Absolutely the WORST fried rice in history! China Hut took some Instant Yellow Rice, added tiny unseasoned strips of breast meat and some onions, then called it, "Chicken Fried Rice"! UNBELIEVABLE!
Nothing about this dish could be considered "Chicken Fried Rice"!
Did it contain:
Carrots?--no!
Green Onions?--nope!
Peas?--nada!
Fried egg?--not at all!

This China Hut is located in the Sandbridge Commons Shopping Center near the corner of Princess Anne Rd, Sandbridge Rd. and Upton Dr. I've been here now several times over the past few months for take out. My most recent visit here was on May 13, 2020.

This China Hut is take out and delivery only. There is no seating inside this restaurant. On the table to the left after you come in has the condiments you may want to get such as duck sauce soy sauce, and hot mustard sauce, along with napkins and plastic utensils.

The take out at China Hut may be more reasonably priced, than other take out places in VA. Beach, but that doesn't make it good.! I stopped in on 3/28 for take out dinner. I can tell you, that my egg rolls were super greasy, and the Singpore Mei Foon was disgusting. The dish had very little curry and lots of dried pepper. It is my contention, that the cook, never learned how to prepare the dish properly. I have had Singapore Mei Foon, in over a dozen Chinese restaurants, and this junk was the worst, I have ever had.!! This is the only restaurant I have been to that doesn't have an operational bathroom. How horrible. This same bathroom was not working over a month ago and it makes one wonder if they ever want to return. This needs to get fixed.

Cheap Chinese is about cheap and filling...but sometimes one of these take-away places actually bring flavor and quality. China Hut veg is cooked perfectly. The sauces are flavorful, the chicken in our chicken with broccoli and Szechuan chicken was fork, even spoon tender. The spring rolls crispy on the outside, and tasty. The fried dumpling porky and savory...with the amazing soy/vinegar sauce. The hot and sour soup was full of veg and tofu and the spices perfectly balanced. This is now our go-to cheap Chinese takeout...the chef cares about flavor and knows his food will bring people back

Went to get our dinner, walked they door store was dirty, kids all behind the counter. Not one hair net or glove on anyone. I guess the female owner had open bleeding pimples on her face. Totally grossed out, they were still bleeding as she is handing me our dinner. Did not want to even try the food I was just grossed out. I understand working and working hard but ALL of them needed some personal hygiene attention. Threw all the food out. Lesson learned for not checking Yelp before we ordered.

We just drove in town from N.C. and we're all starving. Stopped at HT for gas & to pick up a few things at Harris teeter and saw this place. The place is clean, kids/baby toys and things were everywhere though which was kind of odd. They have 4 kids (including an infant) & they were all there. My cousin mentioned "is this a restaurant or daycare" when we first walked in. The owners were really friendly though. We were a party of 9 and all loved the fact the food was made to order. Best Chinese in the area for delivery. I like that they have combo plates.... meaning you can get 2 half orders in one entree. My favorite is the general chicken/ sweet and sour. We have ordered there a bunch and it's always quick and correct.

This place was pretty good, I ordered and it was ready in only about 10 minutes. I got the dinner special orange chicken with fried rice for $8. I was afraid to eat here based on the lack of reviews but I'm glad I gave it a try!

Unbelievable. They demanded an order for at least $25 dollars to deliver to Sandbridge. I was at $19 with my order. Before their "delivery charge". I reside right at the entrance of Sanbridge so we are approximately 7 miles from this establishment. Even after explaining this, they still refused and stated I needed to do pickup or order food I didn't need to meet the random $25 criteria they came up with.
