Chalita is a very personable, positive, and optimistic person. She carried with her the professional knowledge and expertise of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine to help with many issues. I highly recommend this acupuncture clinic and I see Chalita there. Not only has she helped me heal from many minor and major health and emotional issues, she is so gentle and gifted that the treatments themselves are a joy.
I've seen other acupuncturists who don't take a gentle approach to putting the needles in, which can hurt and cause undue stress at a time when you already feel vulnerable. But she has just the right touch and I always leave feeling like I'm floating on air.

I came to Chalita because I wanted to see if Accupuncture could help relieve some of my altitude sickness when I arrive in the mountains and because a friend highly recommended her. As an avid skier for the last thirty years, only in the last 10 years had I suddenly developed altitude sickness. I have taken prescription drugs from my doctor which seemed to help the first few years, but they have given me less relief more recently. Chalita is one of Marin's BEST acupuncturists. She is knowledgeable, friendly, specific in her treatments and kind. I was having some low back stiffness and although I got my back adjusted and had a massage, I couldn't get it to 100%. She explained to me what she saw when she placed the needles into my lower back and noticed some inflammation. What she did, did the trick. The inflammation resolved and I was back to 100%. Three weeks ago on February 18 I accidentally poured scalding water on my right hand while dumping boiling pasta water out into the sink. It hurt in the moments immediately after the accident. Then the pain subsided. However I did feel a little stiffness opening and closing my hand.

I was hesitant to try acupuncture again after having a bad experience. However, Amie Brooke has made me a full believer in its benefits and I have every confidence in her as a provider.
I had extensive nerve damage on an entire side of my body caused by a stroke. Amie listens to the changes in my body from week to week and is very thoughtful on how each session will vary. I felt comfortable immediately walking into the office. The music is soothing and the community acupuncture room has comfy loungers. But even more importantly, Amie Brooks helped me better than any other acupuncturist I've ever seen. I was in complete pain when I arrived - basically stressed out from all the pain - and when I left I felt relieved, less pain and much more relaxed. I saw her two associates the following week when she was away but they didn't help nearly as much. I went back to Amie a second time this week and again - pain relief. I highly recommend Amie. I have had a tremendous experience with great success working with Amie Brooke at Tamalpais Community Acupuncture. I visited Amie with constant pain in my Achilles (Achilles Tendinitis of the heel). It was always inflamed, and pretty much stopped me from running at all. It was debilitating. Amie was very open and honest upfront about the treatment and the number of estimated treatments that would be necessary to see improvement - but was confident that it would get better. Yesterday my husband was in need of a 1 time acupuncture treatment while we were traveling thru the San Francisco area. We called numerous places and left messages and found many closed for the holiday weekend. Heidi called my husband back and arranged to meet him at the closed center for a 1 time treatment! Amie Brooke is an experienced and talented acupuncturist, who is also a gifted healer. I've been to many acupuncturists. Chalita is gifted. I was in bed for 4 days, immobile with lower back pain (happens every 2-3 yrs.) Was improving about 20% per day (slowly.) Chalita brought me such relief! I felt her access my meridians in such a direct way that I fell into a gentle trance for about 20 minutes, completely pain free. I stumbled in for my first appointment in a TERRIBLE siatica flare- Chalita was amazing- so calming, attentive, soothing and accommodating. She let me sit in a position that was as comfortable as I could be and put needles in my ears before I got to the back to help soothe my nervous system. The hour long treatment I had was the first time I had been comfortable in a week. I've been back once since that first appointment and will be back again for sure! I love the community vibe, and absolutely appreciate that the cost is something that allows me to access treatment regularly.

I see Chalita on a weekly basis and she is consistently sweet, cheerful, knowledgeable, caring and empathetic. Her "energy" level is wonderful :) I always get into a lovely meditative space when the needles are in and I rest with the light music and ambient sounds playing. I am healing on many levels, not just the physical ailments I came to her with.
I've been to other community acupuncture clinics but this one is by far the most comfortable, inviting and healing.

After years of enjoying community acupuncture in the city, I moved to Mill Valley and was faced with the hurdle (however small) of the drive back just for my needle therapy. Today I saw Chalita at Tamalpais Community Acupuncture for the first time. She was professional, listened attentively, asked great questions, and set me up for an awesome hour of relaxation! A little more expensive than SF community acupuncture spots, Tam Community Acupuncture seems worth it nonetheless. I've found my new spot!

I went for my first treatment 3 months ago. My primary doctor at Kaiser recommended I try acupuncture to relieve the pain from a frozen shoulder, I hate to say I was a bit skeptical but I was willing to try anything at that point. After 2 treatments with Aime (3 days apart) the mobility in my shoulder had increased and the stabbing pains were fading more and more each day. With the acupuncture treatments and exercise my shoulder is almost 100% now.
