After returning home from serving in France during World War I, John Welch, Sr. opened his first grocery store in Detroit, Michigan. John was the proud father to four sons; Robert, John, Richard and William. Sadly, the eldest Welch son, Robert, was lost while serving in World War II. In 1947, John Welch's second oldest son, John, nicknamed "Jay, " opened his own store called "Jay's Market" in Detroit.

Curbside pickup a stellar experience: easy online ordering, real humans answer the phone if you have a question, you get a clear accounting of your order and its cost via email before you pick it up, and when you pull up and call at your pickup time, your groceries are brought out and loaded into your car within five minutes by the most pleasant people in the industry.

I really love Hollywood. Their meat counter and deli are better then anywhere. The only thing that tops it is their customer service. No where tops their service. I was looking for footlong hotdog buns and seriously 3 different people went above and beyond to help. It's always that way there. When my kids were little the bagger would come out and help me put my groceries away. They are the best!

I absolutely love this Hollywood Market! The staff is really friendly and I can find alot of stuff there that I can't find at other grocery stores. The deli and meat counter is great too and the store is always clean. They even make fresh popped popcorn! If you haven't shopped at this store you are really missing out. And their fried chicken is to die for!

This is my go to grocery store for many reasons. The store is almost always well stocked, large selection of goods especially in the produce and meat areas, staff is always pleasant, and you really can't beat how easy it is to get in and out of the store unlike the larger Kroger near by or any Meijer for example.

I have been using the shop online for the last couple months. My groceries are always ready when I arrive to pick them up. Everyone is always so nice and load my groceries into my car. I feel this option is a life saver for me. Since I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, I just wasn't able to make my way through the Market. So, thank you to Hollywood Market.
