Hello, my name is Harriet. I joined Dr. McKay's practice in 1988. I have worked with him as a dental assistant and later as his practice manager. I have worked in dentistry since 1972. Outside of working, I enjoy junking and own Medlyannas!, The Warehouse and Sweet Eva Janes, my church, and spending time with my husband.
As many of you know, I have been involved in fundraising for the cause of Multiple Sclerosis for 26 years. MS is an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. My grandfather was the initial reason I began riding for a cure and then, after years of fundraising for MS, my wife, Mary was stricken with the disease.

It's difficult to be a patient of Pete McKay. He is a good dentist but allows for very little patient feedback or involvement. I've asked him several questions about my treatment plan but he does not like prolonged questions. I found that out when he said to me, "If you'd stop talking, we can get down to business." If you just go along with everything he wants, you'll be fine. If you question, you will see another side of him.

I went to Dr McKay on Wed to look at my tooth that needed to be pulled. He xrayed it and found it was infected. He put me on an antibiotic and made me an appointment for today to pull it out. He was so wonderful with explaining every step of the way. He made me feel so comfortable. I didn't feel any pain. I would highly recommend him to any one who doesn't have a dentist. His office stay is awesome. I want to thank Donna and Windy. Y'all were great!!!

WARNING! This dental office appears to be very misleading in their business practices in regards to insurance. Be VERY CAUTIOUS before accepting their "yes" when asking about whether Dr. McKay "takes your insurance." My encouragement...check with your particular insurance company BEFORE having any work done by this dentist. BE INFORMED!

I’ve been going here for years because I’ve always received the best possible care; now I bring my own family. My 6 year old has been getting routine cleanings since she was 3, and she’s never been afraid; in fact, she looks forward to her visits. Pete and his staff are thoroughly informative about procedures and they make me feel at ease knowing all my questions are answered in detail. I’ve had several encounters now with Pete McCay and here is my candid review of him and his practice. The Good: His office staff is very nice and I believe they do a good job. His office is nice and well kept and clean. I think Pete also does decent dental work and is a perfectionist yet his interpersonal skills are a problem for me and others I’ve spoken with about him have similar review. He may not realize it, but he comes off very condescending and I’m always on edge and on defense in his presence. He talks to me like a child whenever I question anything he has done or express my feelings

An awful experience on base caused me to look off post for a dentist. My uncle referred me here. The second I walked in, I could tell, from the way the staff interacted with me and the overall atmosphere, that people truly took pride in their work and enjoyed being here. Dr Pete McKay is absolutely first class and so is his entire staff. Everything that I have had done here has been flawless and painless. (Well, except when the actual drill is going to work, but you get the idea)
