We are Susan and Ron Passaro, and we know firsthand the emotional distress individuals and families go through when faced with the prospect of finding the right elder care facility. Several years ago we found ourselves facing the bewildering task of finding appropriate care for Susan's ailing father.
We never underestimate the power of family support when the topic of care for your aging parents or loved ones is explored. This decision involves much consideration, and family input and cooperation can be the key to a successful transition. For some seniors, a move to an assisted living community is not only an acknowledgement of their physical and mental decline, but also of a permanent loss of independence.
Assisted Living Facilities usually offer several levels of care, beginning with independent living. Private apartments offer seniors their own personal haven with the benefit of 24 hour caregiving services. Assisted Services may be as simple as medication monitoring, or may include some or all of the following: bathing, grooming, escorting services, special food preparation, incontinence care, and escorts to medical appointments.
Searching for the right assisted living facility can be a confusing, intimidating and time-consuming process. The Passaro Group is like the superman of eldercare planning. I found them after having placed my now 94-year-old father in three different facilities over a 4-year-period, none of which offered him a decent level of care.
