Come for a visit and you will enjoy seeing our unique winemaking techniques. You will also have a chance to chat with the winemaker about the process and his resulting wines. Whether you have a sophisticated palate or just like tasting great Washington State wines, you will find something to enjoy at FairWinds Winery.
Port Townsend has a long maritime heritage, and our former careers were involved with the sea where the phrase, "Fair winds and following seas." is a special salute to a fellow mariner. Our label recalls those days when "fair winds" brought exotic cargoes from around the world. We wish you "fair winds and following seas" and believe the ship on this bottle will bring you a refreshing experience from the wonderful world of wine flavors!

Had the Red Wine Cider and Chocolate tour this weekend and I have to say this winery was the best by far! I'm a sucker for Cabernet Sauvignon - and they had the 2005 and 2007 to choose from. We enjoyed the chocolate fountain they had for dipping and Jim gave us an awesome breakdown of how they create their works of art! Every wine we tasted was delicious - and they took an opposite turn to each wine with deliberate intention! I can appreciate their efforts! The Gewurztraminer was not overly sweet as one would normally expect, and the Merlot was much tastier than I had ever had! All in all

The gentleman serving the wine was very friendly and nice to talk to. The wine tasting included 7 wines, one which included a delicious mead. The tasting had a good selection, taking us on a nice flavor trip. The tasting was inexpensive. The price of the bottles seemed just a bit high but I still highly recommend a visit!

This place is the BOSS!
Bill (I kept calling him Doug?!? Possibly too much of their great wine!) was our host when we decided to visit. We were the only ones there so he took us on an entire tour of their wine making process! After visiting several wineries in the past, I've NEVER gotten such an in-depth tour. It was informative and fun.
We left with six bottles. LOL. And some really dope wicks to make all of our leftover wine bottles into cool candles!
Some highlights: The Mead--WHAT?! Yes. Mead. It's so legit, I can't even explain it. I highly recommend it. Their Gweurtztminer

I visited this place many moons ago with a couple girlfriends from San Francisco when we stayed in Port Townsend (Port Charles as they call it) for an all girls weekend.
Listening to my free spirit, I decided to enjoy the sun and take the non direct route back to Seattle from Whidbey Island (Keystone to Port Townsend to Bainbridge Island to Seattle).
Being in Port Townsend, I thought I'd stop by and taste their latest selection of wines since we enjoyed them before.

We decided to take a spontaneous day trip up north and found ourselves in Port Townsend, which I haven't visited since high school. We didn't get a chance to really delve into the city (and it was cold and rainy anyway), but we did stop at FairWinds Winery on our way out. The outside of the tasting room looks like a big barn, surrounded by tractors. The inside is small and cozy, with a variety of wine-related gift items for sale (wine toppers, picnic sets, etc). The tasting was $3 per person, $5 per couple, and there was a wide variety that was being poured, whites, reds and dessert
