Services
We are only human. As humans, we are affected by our past, struggle to remain rooted in the present moment, and worry about the future. Individual therapy gives you the ability to work collaboratively with a trained, skilled professional in a safe space. We will work with you to identify areas of concern and relationships, emotions, or behaviors that may be limiting.
The ability to connect with others who can understand your experience firsthand and work toward resolution or understanding can be invaluable. Midwest Counseling offers you the opportunity to work with other people in a small group to explore various issues andr learn skills to better understand and manage difficult issues in your life.
Our psychological and neuropsychological testing evaluations weave together in-depth information into thorough clinical reports. Discovering what is at the root of your daily struggles requires careful clinical assessment. We use the most empirically validated instruments and take our time with thorough one-on-one interviews to arrive at our diagnostic impressions.
Maybe you have anxiety around certain foods, find yourself seeking comfort in food, or feel out of control with eating. Maybe you've recently recovered from an addiction and are learning how to nourish your body. You may be seeking nutritional guidance because you have a food allergy or a medical condition that places limitations on food or exercise.
Midwest Counseling is proud to offer clinical consultation and training services for clinicians outside our practice. We firmly believe that ongoing learning and diverse perspectives provide the best opportunity for therapists and counselors to grow personally and professionally. We have opportunities for consultation with specialists in eating disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), addiction/recovery, and trauma.

I was very satisfied with the services until I was told, out of the blue, at the end of a session that the group was no longer in-network with my insurance and had not been for a month in which I had racked $600 in out-of-pocket costs that I would need to submit to my insurance and hope for reimbursement on.
The therapist I worked with was a great professional, but the fact that no effort towards proactive communication was made regarding this change seems like a questionable business practice.
As a patient, I'd recommend. As a consumer, beware.

Very disappointed that not one of their therapists were taking on new patients at this time.

I was denied therapy after bringing some paperwork about my last counseling treatment, which is understandable as they can deny patients if they want to. That paperwork was then sent in the mail to me and i never received it so i called to tell them about that.
Afterwards I requested a copy of my (very private) medical information, that had been either stolen or delivered to the wrong address. I was then harassed & accosted by a man named Chris who claimed to be a lawyer. I would not recommend them in the least. I'm sure they actually have good therapists, but it's not for me.
