I am so excited to connect with you! You are about to take a step that can feel scary and vulnerable. I want to make this process as warm and inviting as possible, because your therapy office should be the safest place in the world for you. Counseling can seem scary and daunting! I remember my first time walking into my therapist's office. I was completely overwhelmed with my life and my marriage. I had no idea what this process was going to be like or what to expect. I am here to journey with you through this process as we begin to work together.
Families can be the place were we can find the most support and the most frustration. My passion is helping families create spaces of empathy and understanding so that each person feels heard and understood. Whether your family is in the process of increasing the space between each other or coming together to create something new, I can help support those transitions.
The onslaught of emotions that are unleashed in a court ordered reunification case are intense and often overwhelming. These emotions can range from intense anxiety and fear to overwhelming hope and excitement. I am here to walk with you through this process. This is a process, not just an event. I work with each member of the family involved to ensure that everyone is ready for that first joint meeting.
I love working with engaged partners! If you are wondering whether or not to "tie the knot" or wanting to become aware of any future "bumps in the road" that may come up, premarital counseling is a great place to start. Whether you are looking to improve communication, recover from an affair, or end your relationship amicably, then couples counseling is a wonderful place to find healing and support.
Being in a long-term committed relationship brings with it its own set of challenges. Premarital counseling is a helpful place to determine what your strengths and weaknesses are as a couple. I can offer tools and resources to strengthen your weak areas so that when life gets stressful or overwhelming, your relationship will be able to weather that storm.

I absolutely adore Athena! Having never been in therapy before, I was nervous. Athena is warm and welcoming and she has a delightful office space that puts me in a feel good mood to work on parts of myself I sought therapy for. Athena has gained my trust and has continued to build an excellent therapeutic relationship with me by being attentive, caring, validating and thoughtful. Athena has been able to converse with me on many topics and encourages working in a trauma-informed, relational, and systemic way which helps me critically think and show up in a different way. I am getting so much out

For the past 2 months my son and I have been doing reintegration therapy with Athena McCullough. I can honestly say our relationship has never been worse. She gets 2 stars because I can see how her methods of insisting that the abuse be acknowledged and empathized would be very effective in cases of actual abuse. Unfortunately the claims that I had hoped to work through with my son were proven false (started by his mother). My advice, if you actually abused your children Athena will be great at helping you, but if you didn't abuse your kids you are probably better off finding a therapist that understands
