The Sailmaker’s House in Portsmouth, NH was a perfect spot to enjoy a night away. The room we reserved was simply yet thoughtfully decorated. The pillows and bed linens were just like being at home, fluffy and cozy. The private bathroom had everything including wonderfully fluffy Matouk towels.
Not a single detail was missed, including filtered water, coffee, snacks, and a lovely room for reading etc. in the common area on the first floor.
The location was perfect if you would like to be able to walk easily to many downtown areas.
We look forward to staying again soon.

Great Inn in downtown Portsmouth. Easy walking distance to Market Square, Strawberry Banke and many restaurants and shops. Parking on site. Beautifully decorated old house, turned Inn. Wide blank floors, narrow hallways and all that you would expect with an older property. There's a mini fridge in a common room and complimentary tea, coffee and snacks for guests. Also filtered water, if you have your own bottle, which was great.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Perfect location! It was charming with a touch of history. We loved that we were able to be so close to town & able to enjoy our favorite wine & cheese store, Corks & Curds where we had the most amazing cheeses & wine.
