Had dinner here last eve don't get me wrong the sushi was wonderful. Let start by saying I travel weekly for work and do sushi 1-3 times a week
All across this country. In some of the most expensive cities. For the price point this place is cray cray. Service although good should have been superb at what I paid. Atmosphere was nice but also not equatable to the price point.

Update; 1/16/22 we visited yesterday as a table of 4. It was super busy, booked out. While the food has always been good, it seemed to be on another level of deliciousness. The cocktails also seemed so improved over what always seemed so good. The spicy edamame is "to die for"!! The service was fantastic. Even though so busy, our waiter was totally on point. Such a great dining experience.
This remains a great Japanese restuarant. The service is always friendly and fast. The restaurant feels spacious and open, beautifully decorated. The food is simply delicious and always artistically plated.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The service is awful. From the moment you walk in til it's time to pay. The host was rude. The waiter was slow and unable to answer any questions about the menu. Eventually I spoke to a "manager" who was the most difficult, rude, borderline harassing person I've ever met. I warn everyone to stay away. Listen to the bad reviews that "aren't recommended". Terrible in every single way possible.

Worst restaurant ever visited!! The staff over there , specially the bartenders do not know how to treat customers. The food is of mediocre quality , go to uchi or Nobu if you really like to have some good sushi.

We done at Sage at least twice a month. We love the SP and Roxy rolls! The food is consistently delicious and the service is almost always really good. Only complaint, the prices are high and the restaurant is so cold, our entire family always wears a jacket in the restaurant. Even with a jacket, we are frequently uncomfortably cold.

Sage 400 is the place to go for amazing Japanese food, sushi and great service. From the appetizers (the server will recommend special items off the menu) including Toro which was smooth and perfectly seasoned. The Calamari Tempura was soft yet tasty with the right amount of outside crispness! The crowd favorite of appetizers, is the Chilean Sea Bass Wraps. The Sea Bass is prepared just right and is always sooo yummy! To the main courses of Lamb Chops (seared perfectly!) and Sky Diver Roll with soft shell crab, fresh water eel and avocado. This Roll is to die for! The Chicken Katsu was fried to

Not a good experience first walking in.
Table of 4. We wanted a big booth. The hostess says no, it's reserved for a bigger group. I point to two other tables, of 4 and 3 In the same size large table. She SNAPS at me and says "LIKE I SAID it's reserved for a bigger table. It's our last large booth"

Like ok? No need to raise your voice. Also when I point out two other tables have LESS than what he have and are sitting at a big table. Also, they're leaving soon. You'd have both their tables open up. I used to be a host. I know how it works.

Also if you want

Very good sushi restaurant with a great list of drinks. I also like the location, in the middle of the galleria, but also still a whole in the wall. Great service and large menu.

This restaurant has a good happy hour menu it's not on their website but I called ahead to ask what was on it. The bartenders John and Andrew who helped us were so nice and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the lychee martini's which were $7 on hh menu. Will def be back for more!

The customer service was awful!! My friends and I called HOURS in advance for a table. We arrived a few minutes late and the staff was not only extremely ignorant, but very rude and proceeded to yell at us (a group of young girls). We called before and the staff ended the call mid conversation. Our table was given away and all 7 of us had to squeeze into a table of 4. The seating was uncomfortable and not suitable for 7 people. Would NOT recommend dining here.

2nd time here and have been quite satisfied both times. The service is good and efficient, the sushi is really good. The drinks are pretty good too, my old fashioned with rye was spot on! I recommend the Roxy roll for a good mix of flavors!

Angie and her team are excellent. The wine was incredible! Monk roll was flavorful and the mushroom on crispy rice cake was divine!! Edamame hummus was addictive. This is a hidden gem in Houston! So many vegetarian options. We will be back!

Great food! Original menu with some great fusion choices. The rolls are good and the service is great. Cool atmosphere and you can usually find a spot at the bar on short notice.
Prices might be a little on the high side but it’s not bad.

Hands down my absolute favorite sushi restaurant. The sashimi is always fresh, melt in your mouth, decently sized pieces. All servers I've had have been great. The owners are the absolute sweetest people too.

What we ordered this time:
Tuna Tartar
Hot rock beef (my favorite)
Tuna sashimi
Salmon sashimi
Yellowtail sashimi
Pepper tuna sashimi
Unagi nigiri
Tempura whitefish Roll (My favorite)
Tex mex Roll
Mochi ice cream
Sake

This restaurant hasn't let me down yet. Very nice atmosphere. Price is on the high end, with tip for the above was $240.00. If you have the money to spare, it&apos

Place is so good. Food is amazing, some of the freshest sushi I have ever had. It's in galleria so the price is up there.. that's my only negative. But if you have some spare cash and in the area . You can't go wrong.

My order: Sunomono salad, Yellowtail roll, chopped scallop nigiri, and the Sage 400 roll

Early March
My party was promptly greeted and led to our table. No waiting needed around 7pm on Saturday. Once 7:30 hits, BOOM! Packed and loud.

Our server looked like he was nice and patient. My mom took a while and he seemed ok with it. At one point, he just seemed a bit fake. Read the next paragraph to see why.

Sunomono salad ($15)
2/5
It was a chilled salad with thin slices of cucumber, a citrus-soy sauce based dressing that was tangy, and 2 pieces of each of the following: cooked octopus, cooked surf

Atmosphere: 5/5
Food: 5/5

Atmosphere: Very nice establishment in the beautiful Galleria Houston area. There are large, comfy booths, eclectic chairs, a lot of tables, and bar seating. The decor is very nice and the servers are very prompt and helpful.

Food: We ordered the Eel Handroll, Volcano roll, Sea bass, and miso soups. The eel handroll was smoked, which is new for me. It had great flavor and was very filling. The volcano roll was actually spicy, which I appreciate! It was full of scallops and had a nice presentation. The sea bass was flavored very very well; super moist and rich! Also

Really on the fence about this place. Arrived to a remarkably unassuming looking spot that I almost thought was closed it was so dark but as soon as we opened the door it was clear this is a popular spot as it was full but still able to immediately seat us.

Really cool decor; loved the sleek look and open sushi bar. Service was fast and friendly and food arrived quickly.

I had a salad bowl called Sunomono which is a variety of sushi - shrimp, octopus, surf clam, white fish and a crab stick served over a cucumber salad. It was good but not blow your mind amazing!

I understand good sushi can be

The food was good and the specialty roll was great. It is a little over priced in my opinion. 2 roll for $41 after a tip.
The atmosphere is nice and the service was great. The only reason they got 4 stars is because of the lack of value.

---Dearest Reader,

I can still recall the day Sage 400 sanctified my itinerary. Blessed be. I am impressed. There is much work ahead before our next campaign.

As the eagles fly, the salmon swim. Feathers may fall, but filets are earned. Upon first bite, I pinched myself and asked, "Am I eating salmon sashimi, or am I indulging in amish butter?" - at this point, I tell myself, "What is the difference".

Mistake me not, this traveler knows well. Many a fish markets this man has journeyed. I know superiority, and this is held to my highest regard.

To be, is to know oneself
