Prism Psychological Services offers evaluations for children with attention problems, hyperactivity, learning issues, school placement, and special education services. We also offer treatment and psychotherapy services for a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. Prism Psychological Services offers psychological and learning assessments to help children receive special education services in school.
A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of cognitive and behavioral functions using a set of standardized tests and procedures. Predoctoral training in psychology and neuropsychology which includes an organized graduate course of study in neuropsychology. Formal postdoctoral training focusing on brain-behavior relationships and neuropsychological assessment.
Psychotherapy is often used either alone or in combination with medications to treat mental illnesses. Called "therapy" for short, the word psychotherapy actually involves a variety of treatment techniques. During psychotherapy, a person with a mental illness talks to a licensed and trained mental health care professional who helps him or her identify and work through the factors that may be triggering their illness.

Dr. Field is a North Carolina licensed clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and adults. He received his Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2004, and has worked in private practice as well as county, state, and federal government positions, including an internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, VA.
