Great place, good food and nice people! Would definitely come back when in town again!!

Good food and plenty of it. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. A neighborhood experience, see people you already know and enjoy their company.

Cozy friendly atmosphere- even provides daily newspapers! I love the veggie omelet loaded with veggies and served with home fries. We are always warmly greeted by the owner and staff who provide excellent service efficiently. Nice to have such a great neighborhood go-to. Did i mention the prices are great?

The staff were very pleasant and very attentive. Food was great. Will definitely go back.

We had a delicious breakfast. Friendly service. Spicy Breakfast burrito was just that. Kielbasa and eggs were cooked perfectly. Good rye bread. We'll definitely be back!

Walked into this restaurant with my sister & felt like I was walking into a sauna! Many people there, but no a/c running. I was sweating by the time I sat down to a table. NOT GOOD! If their a/c is not working while it was over 85* degrees outside, it should not be opened till they get it fixed!
We left this restaurant!

Waitress was super friendly food was good until my plate was brought out with a non-flying insect on the plate. We sat outside but there were no other bugs walking or near the table where we were sitting. The insect was small and crawled out from underneath the eggs. I ordered the 3 eggs, kielbasa with sweet potatoes fries.
After realizing the bug was on the plate only 10% into the meal I immediately advised the server who then took my plate. I lost my appetite and didnt want a replacement. I just wanted this item removed from my bill since it clear came out with the meal and wasnt even enjoyed

This is a frequent breakfast stop for us because the food is excellent and the service is always great. We are always treated as part of the family and wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

Although this establishment has been here for awhile this was my first visit. Met my daughter for a light lunch and since she's on a tight schedule they were extremely accommodating and happily took our order over the phone before our arrival . Within a few minutes of us sitting down our order was brought to our table ! Extremely pleasant and friendly employees !
The restaurant is small and cozy with a handful of tables . There is also a counter area with stools with a quaint bar !

I'm not from the island but upon a visit w/ my brother, who happens to live in East Islip, I decided to pop into the Hometown Cafe for some breakfast. My brother has never been here but he is now going to make it a point to come back.
They have amazing omelets!!
And for four people, under 30 bucks? Come on!
I wish this place was near my house but looks like I'll have to come back again for another visit!
I wish I had taken a picture of the omelette to show it's beauty but you'll have to go eat one to find out yourself!!

Stop in here for breakfast every now and then. The food is good and reminds me of home made food (perfect for the name of the cafe). The service is also always fast and so friendly.

I scarfed my food coming from a Duathlon. Had never heard of this place prior.
It was a small cozy place perfect for a weekend.
I thought the food was fairly average I had gotten corned beef and hash eggs and toast. Nothing crazy. Everything tasted okay and I had no complaints. Maybe next time I'll have something they are known for. Service was great and fast.

Love their fried rigatoni and they have a great grilled cheese with turkey and bacon. I went back a few days ago, I had egg in a hole I believe its called white buttered toast with fried egg in the hole to get two and a side of breakfast sausage. The best breakfast I have ever seen. Delicious. Husband had his usual grilled cheese with turkey and bacon. Alson delicious

Breakfast is incredible and the prices are very reasonable!

For lunch I recommend the Turkey Reuben with either Sweet potato fries or a side salad. Turkey is made fresh at Hometown.

For Dinner I recommend the Pot Roast, YUM!!!

From the owner to the service staff, everyone makes you feel at Home.

One day I will move to New Hampshire, or Vermont, until then, when I want to have a local breakfast with my neighbors there is our Hometown Cafe! A local breakfast (and lunch and dinner too) place for a quick bite to have a nice meal and hear the talk of the day! Prices are fair, food is good, service is friendly! Been coming here since Day 1 and to Poppy’s before then...stop by!

Great traditional breakfast platters and a variety of specialty pancakes. Food came fast and was perfect. Constant coffee re-fills (despite not having non-dairy options). The wait was 30 minutes for 2 on a Sunday - not too bad. Excellent service. Will gladly return!

I found this gem over the summer and its never disappointed me. Ive been here a few times and get something different every time although my go to is the 2 eggs (any style) with a choice of side which comes with home/french fries and toast. The eggs benedict is also amazing. The staff here is always nice and it can get busy on the weekends but still worth the wait.
