Fluidity and ease of movement is a result of using your muscles in an efficient and appropriate way. When you don't move correctly, this pulls you out of alignment causing injury. The body wants to stay upright, be symmetrical, and be in harmony. Therefore, it will do whatever it needs to do to maintain homeostasis.
Are you tired of being told to "just stop dancing" when you bring your pain up to your doctor?. Does the pain that you experience with dancing keep you from enjoying what you love to do most?. Do you ever feel tired, frustrated, and maybe even a little down about your inability to dance the way you want because of an injury or pain?.

After my 19-year-old died in an accident, I gained lots of weight, stopped exercising and threw my body out of balance. All sorts of chronic medical conditions cropped up and old imbalances were exacerbated. I lost my arches and my feet became flat, my over-pronation became worse, my balance and proprioception was now totally out of whack and my engagement of my lats, glutes and abs was next to non-existent. So my feet were demobilized, my gait all wrong. I had a lot to work on.
It took me three years in the medical wilderness after my son’s death to connect with doctors and another two years

I'm writing this review in the hopes of helping connect those who are looking for an effective physical therapy. After working with countless specialists & PTs, I was honestly on the verge of giving up and just accept living with back pain forever but, I found Wellness Rehabilitation through research and decided to try one last time. I'm so glad I did. I got the undivided attention and care that I needed. Most importantly, I received the correct knowledge, tips, and exercises that tremendously helped my recovery. I went from having pain everyday and being unable to sit for more than 30 min to having

I first met Cynthia years ago through a workshop through my local dance studio. The workshop was a blast; I appreciated how accessible Cynthia was as a teacher. Knowing that Cynthia has both extensive anatomical expertise and a background in dance, I knew that when my back and wrists started hurting this past semester - a full master's program load and working at the office did a number for sure - there was no one better to address my pain concerns. As I remembered, Cynthia was gracious and kind at our appointments, ensuring total understanding of each move she taught me in our lessons. With

It has been almost four years since I began Pilates classes here. In the beginning everything I tried to do seemed difficult and awkward but with encouragement and support from Cynthia, the instructor, the exercises started to make sense. She takes into account any ongoing health issues (I have osteoporosis) and modifies movements if necessary. The small class size is a plus as it allows Cynthia to ensure that the exercises are being performed correctly, which is where the focus is, rather than how many reps can be achieved in a certain amount of time. The challenge is ongoing for me - any exercise

I was having difficulties with my hips and knees. I had lower back pain for over a year. I tried extensive stretching and various types of exercise.
I finally went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with bursitis in both hips. Covid hit and I put off the prescribed PT 3x/week. It became more difficult to move about . I reached out to Cynthia Weiss at Wellness Rehabilitation. (Previously, she had helped me through different ailments.)
Cynthia is always professional and addressed each and every pain. She suggested various ways to improve how I sat in a chair, walked, exercised and even slept. Cynthia

I sought help from Wellness Rehab and Cynthia to help my SI joint and some herniated discs in my low back. I wanted to be able to do daily life functions that were bothering me, including walking, sitting, and laying down. One of my providers knew I used to be an avid pilates reformer exerciser, so he asked around for a physical therapist who had pilates training or knowledge. Cynthia was recommended by the owner of a well-known pilates studio in Bethesda. I have seen other physical therapists and have tried to ask them about my gait issues. Right away, Cynthia noticed my gait and had recommendations

I have worked with Cynthia for 5 months to recover strength and range of motion following two surgical procedures. I could not be more satisfied with the results. Cynthia's personalized attention, focus on education has made all the difference - I achieved all my goals. She offers dedicated attention and deep knowledge that is very different from large clinics. This has been a very positive experience and I highly recommend Cynthia's care for anyone seeking to improve physical condition.

I began working with Cynthia for physical therapy back several months ago after injuring my right ankle when I missed a step. I had a long standing injury on my left ankle from a fall several years ago at Christmas. The second incident left me without a leg to stand on and with pain in both ankles. Prior to the visit, Cynthia and I had a great conversation that what my goals were, how treatment would be beneficial and her methodologies. At our initial visit, her office was clean and safe. She took measures to make me feel reassured that she was following CDC Covid-19 prevention measures.

I have osteoporosis and wanted a safe exercise routine. So many people say they know what exercises are good for the disease but they really don't. Cynthia has not only helped me learn what exercises to do, but she is even helping me with walking up and down the stairs and opening doors correctly, which isn't as simple as it sounds. I also came in with a stiff neck and for the first time in years, I am pain-free. We are now working on my goal of playing tennis again, and I think I might make it. I highly recommend Cynthia to help you with whatever physical challenges you have.

After a spinal fusion surgery my activity range was severely limited - it was nearly impossible for me to take a leisurely walk, go out, or even shop for groceries. Many treatment approaches I have tried turned out unhelpful (physical therapy, osteopathic manipulations, massage, epidural cortisone injections…). I came to Cynthia Weiss (Wellness Rehabilitation) looking, therefore, for a more deliberate, well-informed and personally tailored mode of rehabilitation. From the very first session with Cynthia I realized that hers was a different and superior approach. We work on core muscles control
