In 1957 Maria Regina High School was proposed by Cardinal Spellman and opened, temporarily, in what is now our convent. The Sisters of the Resurrection were tasked with founding the first Archdiocesan girls' high school in Westchester County, which they did with love and devotion. Maria Regina has, and will continue to be a stronghold of Catholic education.
For over sixty years, approximately nine thousand young women have graduated from this school and have gone on to higher education, well prepared for their future endeavors attributable to the instruction and guidance they received from a truly dedicated staff.

Maria Regina High School was founded in 1957 by the Archdiocese of New York and since 2009 is governed by a Board of Trustees - a powerful partner with the school that works to secure the future of Maria Regina through strategic planning, fundraising, and fiscal oversight.
The board, led by an executive committee consisting of a chair, vice-chair, secretary and treasurer, is responsible for, but not limited to, developing the school's budget, long-range plan, and school policy; hiring and evaluating the President; and maintaining and improving the physical plant and grounds. It is a mix of former parents and alumnae, representatives of the Archdiocese of New York and community leaders.

Since 1957, Maria Regina High School has been a distinguished leader in the education for young women, providing a rigorous learning environment with strong social and moral guidance in a faith-based tradition. Celebrating over sixty years of excellence, Maria Regina High School is committed to the values of Scholarship, Service and Spirit.
Many mornings, sisters Julie ('99) and Kathleen ('00) Kristian would walk almost a mile to their local Metro-North Station before the sun would rise. These two highly-involved students would often be amongst the last seen on campus, whether it was at Track or Glee Club practice, preparing for meetings of Young Catholic Leadership, National Honors Society, or rehearsing for the annual ITV taping.
Maria Regina High School is committed to establishing a safe educational environment for all members of our community. MRHS is working on an effective learning plan in full compliance with the New York State safety guidelines. We are developing a plan that maintains our students' education and safety as our top priorities.

I was a student at Maria Regina High School and stupidly left after my sophomore year. I disagree with Brittany - Yes, there are more rules in catholic, private school - but the relationships you build with your classmates and the education you get far outweigh the rules and regulations and the memories and experiences stay with you forever.
