PAX - Program of Academic Exchange provides global education and exchange opportunities for students, host families, schools, and communities to open doors, embrace cultures, and become family. PAX is honored to have been selected to work with students from two very special U.S.-Government scholarship programs.
PAX is designated by the U.S. Department of State as a J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program sponsor. The Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) has once again granted PAX full listing in the 2021/22 Advisory List.

Services
PAX Laurasian Exchange envisions a global community of people who are open minded and appreciate cultural differences, because we believe such a community is a fertile field for justice, peace, and prosperity. We aspire to be the quality leader in academic exchange and experiential learning, because we believe such experiences transform the individual's ability to influence our world for the better.
Each year, nearly 1,000 teenagers come to the U.S. through PAX for a semester or academic year. They attend high schools, live with volunteer host families, and change lives. Whether they hail from Europe, Asia, Africa, or Latin America, these citizen diplomats share a common goal: a sincere desire to experience and better understand the U.S. by participating in real-life activities as a student and family member.
If so, you've come to the right place-spending a semester or school year as a PAX exchange student in the United States will change your life! With just a month left in their exchange year, 10 PAX exchange students from all over the world explored New York City while reflecting on their year in the United States and thinking about what advice they would give to future students.
Few experiences rival the power of truly entering another culture-PAX Abroad provides American high school students this unique opportunity. There's a world of difference between simply visiting a country and actually living there. PAX Abroad provides students the chance to live another culture as a member of a local host family.
For decades, PAX has provided scholarship opportunities for impressive international teens who could otherwise not afford to follow their dreams of being an exchange student in the U.S. The PAX Means Peace Scholars program is in keeping with these efforts and serves as an exciting boost to an already-inspiring education success story-that of our partner, Abaarso School of Science and Technology.

PAX was my placement organization when i was hosted in Seattle during my exchange year 2019-20. PAX made my exchange year so much better! My local coordinators organised atleast 2 events every month with the entire exchange student group of the area to experience american culture. I made some of the best friends around the world through pax. Our coordinators were always there to help us with any challenges that we faced during our year. And talking about my exchange year, it was the BEST TIME of my life. Meeting people around the world, being a part of a new family, learning about different cultures

I have worked with PAX for 3 years. I have 5 beautiful bonus daughters whom I have grown very close to and talk to frequently. I have had wonderful experiences with the organization and the students. I have gotten to know so many of the kids over the years and built such wonderful bonds with not only the kids, but other host families! The event that the local coordinators of the organization enjoys putting together for the kids are a blast! Camping and Amazing Race, trips to Austin’s State Capital and San Antonio’s Alamo! Random trips to Six flags, BBQs and really building friendships and lifelong

Hosting an exchange student through PAX has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my lifetime. Our family absolutely loved Michael, the student we hosted. While hosting him, we also met many other exchange students. My experience has been that these students are the cream of the crop. They are bright, well mannered, and fluent in English. They are eager to learn and excited to experience life in America. Several of the families we met host a student every year! Michael is Vietnamese but was from Germany. Our children are adopted, and both are Asian, so Michael fit right in

PAX is an exchange organization that truly cares about the students and host families. It’s an educational program that teaches students to effectively communicate. It’s not the type of organization that just “moves the student” when a problem is brought to them. The coordinator sits down with the family and student to learn more and help everyone work through it. This draws the students and families closer together when they resolve issues together, this is how they grow and learn. These become lifelong relationships.

My family has been hosting with PAX since 2013. Every student we've hosted has been a brand new experience. The key to any successful exchange is honest communication and flexibility. I have found both in PAX. I am so grateful that my three children have grown up knowing that they now have brothers and sisters across the globe. Friends of my kids are now exposed to new traditions, holidays and have learned new culture. I am so very grateful that my kids and our community have a broader perspective of our world! The world becomes just a little bit smaller with every student we host! I love it!

In the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to act as both a host family, as well as a local coordinator for PAX. I can tell you that this program changes lives! I’ve loved watching my exchange students grow in confidence over the months they’ve been here. I also love watching and being a part of the relationships that are formed with their peers, their host families and myself. If there were ever a time to invite a student to share in our culture and for us to learn more of theirs, it is now- PAX gives you that incredible chance. My heart has truly been changed as I’ve gotten to work with

I have worked with PAX for 10 years as a coordinator and I have enjoyed getting to know more amazing families that are willing to open up their hearts and homes to exchange students from all over the world. I have gained so many life long friends from this opportunity over the years. My own children are better individuals because of growing up learning from these students, their cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. In my own home we have hosted students the last four years and they will always be a part of my own family. We love participating in this wonderful opportunity. My daughter is
