Fireproof Restaurant

I feel very torn about this review. I came on a Friday evening and was able to get a few seats at the bar because they were booked they said (though most tables were empty). We have very prompt and attentive service at the bar. However, no one was wearing a mask. Columbus has the mask ordonnance so this was very surprising to me and honestly made me a bit uncomfortable. The vibe is confusing too. It's very dark, and feels more like a club, which is cool I guess, just confusing. There were some yummy drink options, and both the cocktails we ordered came smoked, so I think it's pretty common

It is hard for me and my wife to go out to eat because lately we have been experiencing the worst customer service ever and you can noticed how many places have lowered their quality. Understandable with covid but not what we are looking for. Fireproof never disappoint! Incredible service, servers are excellent trained and the foods was delicious. This is our main place to go to over the short north area. Later we like to walk down to Simply Rolled Ice Cream for a fresh and delicious ice cream!
Congrats to all the Fireproof team. Always super consistent. Great great experience!

Food was very good and drinks were pretty average for a craft cocktail, however the portions are TINY. Service was fine. For $100 (including tip) my boyfriend and I got one cocktail each and probably about 10 bites of food. Had to go get food somewhere else because we both left hungry and couldn't afford a $200 dinner. Tables were SO close together that I was basically rubbing elbows with the couple next to me even though we were still in the midst of a global pandemic. The music was so loud I couldn't hear our waiter or my boyfriend.

Server was wonderful. But I put on the reservation that this was for a birthday, and they brought my friend out a slice of cake that tasted like cardboard. Not only that, but they then charged her specifically 7$ for the birthday cake, even though it was a surprise... kinda appalling if you ask me. They put it on her bill. definitely not worth the extra 7 for that and will most likely not be back

We had a great experience here last night start to finish.
We were greeted by a very friendly host. It was his second day on the job he said (you’re doing great). Michelle was the server that took care of us and she was great as well.
I came with 3 others and we all shared a bottle of the magnum prisoner red wine (great deal btw… 1.5L for $100). And then because it was 4 of us, we shared a large variety of items.
We started with the carnitas tostada, panzanella salad and wagyu bone marrow (it was wagyu wednesday!). These 3 were great appetizers… my favorite was the panzanella salad which

And the drinks were also fantastic. Overall amazing experience and I cannot wait to come back and try more!

Had an amazing time at Fireproof. We ordered the chef's tasting menu for two since it was a special occasion. The food was American/Mexican fusion with a little Asian flair. Occasionally spicy, but so very good. Everything was delicious and our waitress took great care of us. The manager also came out to speak to us and check in. Highly recommend and would go again!

Fireproof is awesome! From the atmosphere, to the staff, to the cocktails to the tapas... everything was great. The manager, Kees, made our experience wonderful.

Love this place for a very fun, happening night out. The vibe of the restaurant is nice and slightly upscale. The food was decent, they have small plates. It wasn't amazing but definitely did the job. I loved the fried rice. We got a bottle of wine which was awesome and served beautifully. Would 100% return for a night out with friends, food service, and energetic vibes

Food was disappointing. It's "shared plates" but the portions are very small yet expensive. We tried to order a variety, but many items on the menu were unavailable. Downside was we would order it and then be told it was unavailable after waiting for the food to arrive. The last item we ordered was not brought out, then the server told us they "threw it all away because it wasn't good quality and they wouldn't be making anymore". We also found that almost all of the food was severely over salted. Just an all around unpleasant experience. Not sure why so many

Great ambience, the restaurant as a whole is very beautiful and had a live DJ when we went playing some early 2000s throwbacks. Genuinely enjoyed the overall vibe, the food on the other hand was rather meh. I got wagyu and it was rather bland, not bad but also not great. The butterfly pea flower lemonade was really delicious though! Service was really good as well.

The seared scallops were amazing! Fun cocktails! Our server Maycee and the GM were great!

This was 1 of my want to go restaurants and it did not disappoint! The food was... Amazing! We tasted each other's food and it was delicious! Shout out to our server Mykala she really made the experience special!! Thanks for the B-day cake guys! 😊

Well... First thing I will say is overall it’s good as well as fun, and if you’re wondering if you should try it out you should for sure! One big note is I have revisited this review and establishment in the past 1.5 years and the menu hasn’t changed at all, that is a mistake… I’ve had Tapas in Spain and other places abroad, and this place is more or less just what you’d expect from a Tapas experience. Maybe I’m just not big on tapas because of the extent of menu quantity and variety diluting small batch quality if you will. But the drink and order back and forth is a great concept

My food was just ok, others at my table wasn’t pleased with their meals either. Some meals lacked seasoning . I don’t see myself returning!

What a bummer. Service leaves A LOT to be desired. Waiting 30+ mins after your reservation and seating to get a server to your table when half the restaurant is empty seems odd. But then she was literally just apologizing to table after table.. so idk understaffed? All of the food was just ok honestly, nothing noteworthy amongst this busy strip of competing restaurants. Oh and they forgot our main entree, but maybe for the best?

I honestly have a million great things I could say about Fireproof, but to sum it up, this is my favorite happy hour in the Short North! For my college student friends, Fireproof is located close enough to campus where you could walk or call a quick Uber. The location is literally perfect. When you get to Fireproof, you will immediately feel the vibe when you walk inside. The decor feels upscale and the wrap around bar let's you know the cocktails are bound to be good!

My friend and I went to fireproof to try their vegan menu that they are serving on Thursdays in addition to their regular menu. As someone who is not a vegan but enjoys a vegan dish every once and a while. I loved everything we tried! We tried about 6 different things.

My personal favorites were the corn, mini beyond burger, mushroom toast and the ramen bowl. Whatever they put on those mushrooms is incredible.

Then to drink I had the blood orange margarita and that was fantastic!! Our waiter was great and the manager stopped to check on us a few different points in the night. Overall a great

Went for Sunday brunch. Love the atmosphere, very chill. Great service and great food. Got the blueberry waffles, banana foster French toast, skirt steak and eggs, lamb meatballs and one other dish, it's pictured but I don't remember what it was. All were great! Skirt steak with the sauce was my fave! I will be back!

Great atmosphere, music, drinks, and food. Would be five stars but our server had an attitude from the start and some of the dishes could have been a little larger. The menu was very diverse and unique. The Waygu Strip Steak might be the best steak I’ve ever eaten. We will be back. It’s a great place for a special occasion or business dinner.
