The property was built in 1990 and passed under the administration of the Valdes Almodovar family more than a decade ago. Valdes Almodovar is a Cuban family with more than 30 years in the United States. They have over 14 years of experience running tourist properties in all of Florida State.

You get exactly what you expect, at a small hidden gem like this. We stayed in a recently removed room with 2 double beds #16. The beds were comfortable, they had a small table with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom was large and the room was clean. The room includes robes, which is such a nice touch. The amenities include a pool, hot tubs, grills, hammocks, boat slip, chairs and a beautiful sunrise! This was our first time here but we will be back.
They do have birds that start making noise shortly after sunrise. I don't recommend staying here if you want to sleep

We had a quaint little room. Very comfy. Close to shopping and activities. Very relaxing. So many iguanas and macaws and wildlife in general Super clean rooms. Super clear pool. Hot tub was perfect! Views out into the ocean. Maid service was perfect. Groundsman was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area! So glad we found an affordable gem. 10☆

We looked at a higher end place next door and I am so glad we went with this place instead. When we first pulled in I was apprehensive but I shouldn't have been, they proved me wrong. The room (#19) oh my gosh!! Ocean view was beautiful, kitchen, living room, bedroom, and absolutely spotless.(please be sure to tip, can't believe how clean!!) They are meticulous about the rooms and beach area. We only stayed one night but will not hesitate to go back. Brought our lil pom dog and he was welcomed without issue, for a nominal fee.

Clean and laid back. Been to plenty of rentals and hotels in the keys for my whole life. This one is cozy and quaint. Rooms were sanitized and welcoming.
Pool and spas were great after fishing on the water all day. Staff were great an able to respond to anything needed. We love this spot as we fish out of Bud n Mary's an go to Lazy Days after to cook our catch. It's walking distance so it's perfect!

We found our newly remodeled room very comfortable, a large room with bed, couch, and eat in kitchen with full fridge and kitchen with stove top, no oven. The place is quaint and nicely decorated.
To the next guests, the place will be completely remodeled down to new beds and linens. The location is great, close to Lazy days restaurant. There is a small beach area, however it is not conducive to swimming in the ocean. They do have an amazing pool and two hot tubs.
We will definitely be back. Unfortunately we dealt with the construction team while here, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars

I was so pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. A group of us came into town for a wedding and all decided to stay at the same place. Out of 9 rooms, we had 5 of them. The rooms were super clean and updated. The staff was super sweet and helpful. The grounds were amazing with the birds and iguanas. The pool was clean and the 2 hot tubs were super hot. It was an amazing, relaxing long weekend. We loved it so much that we are going to try and come down yearly just to enjoy it again. It was AWESOME!

We loved this little place. Perfect for a quick getaway and it is pet friendly. We got the king suite on the second floor overlooking the ocean. It was very nicely decorated, clean and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The pool area is adorable and we loved the parrots. The hotel staff is very accommodating. Great little find!

If I could give this hotel a negative rating I would!! They canceled my reservation by claiming my pets were over the 45 lb. weight limit and then promised me and my brother in law to our face that they would refund the money they charged us for the stay, only to have been LIED TO!!!!!
They put us in a situation where we had to scramble to find another hotel that allowed pets (like they supposedly claim to do) and then go back on their word by charging us for the stay and NOT crediting us back our money when they are the ones that canceled the reservation!!!!!

Stay away. The worst motel I have rented in my life. Websites without updating with current photos of the destroyed dirty and poorly attended this place.
They charge extra $45 per night for taxes extra from you nightly price
They withdraw from you account $100 for deposit you have to wait 4 days for you refund and they not refund 100 % ,for nothing they take out money from this deposit.

Managers very rude

This real score is zero. The Keys are normally a place for peace and tranquility. The Psycho Owners here will not last long. They write the book on abusing there guests and have no problem sending them into the streets over a minor very correctable issue.
Your car will be more comfortable and hospitable than these two true candidates for anger management courses. The locals and the cops are very aware of this disgusting management team.
The room sink did not drain and was out of Toilet paper so we went to store and bought our own. Local store made it clear these new owners were no good

I gave my credit card only for a hold within 10 minutes as per my bank they charged my card.
& That's when everything changed the smile the owner gave us now turned into craziness. They started by banging on doors and yelling rudely at everyone watching the Sunrise that if it was our car they were towing it now. I walked up to the parking found both the owners yelling at the person who's vehicle was perfectly parked. I kindly asked the owners to please relax it was a beautiful morning. Stop the banging on doors, the yelling & screaming that

If I could give ZERO stars I would.
First of all, do NOT be fooled by the photographs posted online. Whoever took photographs of the property did a very good job at making the place look fantastic but it is far from it. I was highly disappointed, the place is small, old and gross. Complete deception.
Second of all, eager to enjoy the "resort" we arrived earlier than check out time, at any other location this is not a problem however at this particular location it was a HUGE problem. The office was closed and we were approached in the parking lot by the manager, completely unprofessional

We had a great stay here!!! The rooms were clean and the staff is very helpful! We kept our rented boat here and it was very convenient and easy. Tell A1A Watersports you're staying at the Sands and Oscar should give you a discount! Room 15 was nice! Washing machine wasn't working but that's ok. Pool is small but clean. We went snorkeling right off the dock!! We will stay here again!

I stayed herestring the MBG fishing tournament and had a great time. While the host hotel was next door, this was a great alternative. They close at 5 for check in with #boats, but they stayed open 15 minutes longer to wait for us since we got held up in traffic.
Once we were there, the owners helped us backward drive to the ramp to launch the boat. This could be a huge issue if your not great at backing up with a trailer. Once the boat was in and the truck pulled forward, they hitched and wheeled the trailer to its place. Since there is very little room, just being 1 vehicle! Otherwise

We found this place online and I don't know who photographed this place but they did a hell of a deceiving job! We were in shock when we arrived and we had rented out almost the entire resort for a yearly family vaca. We usually stay at another place but wanted to try something new! This entire property basically consist of 1 strip of gravel. There is really no beach at all, just a boat ramp that's all slimy and dangerous because you can slip and fall so easily. Online they said that every room had a kitchen

Great price, low-key atmosphere, clean rooms, great location, awesome talking birds!
The bad:
We went there with no real plan except for relaxing by the water close to our room, but the pool was closed when we got there and the ocean water/sand was pretty nasty and made us itchy.
The ugly:
We woke up the next day to load our car, and to our horror, the entire vehicle was infested with ants (not the biting kind but still very unpleasant). It's a newer car and I've never had this problem before in my life. I know they came from the hotel parking lot because the same ants
