Cajun Phatty's
You all have probably heard of or even ordered a bowl of Gumbo at a great steak house or soup specialty restaurant, but was it really just "good soup"? Here at Cajun Phatty's, we strive to represent our Cajun culture with authenticity and stick to the family owned recipes our founders grew up on. Gumbo is more than a hot broth and rice (its all about the roux y'all).

And we apply that thinking to all of our menu items and the ingredients they require to be the best and most authentic. We are proud to use the finest ingredients that we can get our hands on. Many of our ingredients are shipped up from Louisiana and we use locally sourced products as often as possible.
Services
Located in Billings, Montana, you will find an authentic menu of Louisiana favorites! Owned and operated by actual Cajuns, this food truck turned restaurant is training its customers to say "Ca c'est bon" one bowl of Gumbo and one Shrimp Po Boy at a time! Come on down and find out for yourself what all the ruckus is all about!
At Cajun Phatty's, we love to create original family Cajun recipes, with a little bit of our own personal flair! We update our menus often, so check back for the latest versions! 10 Shrimp dredged in cornstarch and fried, then tossed in our sweet and spicy Bayou Bang sauce. Chicken bites dredged in cornstarch and fried, then tossed in our sweet and spicy Bayou Bang sauce.

Cajun Phatty's is one of my favorite places to eat. Everything is cooked up hot and fresh, and tastes amazing. You come in as strangers and leave as family. 😍❤️😊👍👍👍👍👍

Our server was a very sweet, BEAUTIFUL brunette. She was SO kind. The food was SO good. Came in on Wednesday from about 2 hours away. The bang bang shrimp was so delicious, I ordered extras to go. What a great first time experience. I loved it. Can’t wait to come back!!!!!

Good Cajun / New Orleans style food. Authentic, the owner moved to Billings from New Iberia, Louisiana which is in the heart of CoonAss country. One negative - no beer.

The portion was large, but it was not a great experience taste wise. Less is more sometimes and the spices used would fit that mold. I eat a lot of cajun food down South, but this was straight overwhelming. I would like to try it again for a shot at redemption but I will not go out of my way to do that.

A must visit small family resturant serving Louisiana Cajun dishes. It is obviously a local favorite. They will adjust the heat down for you if asked to.
Our party ordered their special coffees, elevated fried green tomato appetizer, shrimp & grits, fried chicken sandwichs, & shrimp tacos. Everything was fabulous! Our server was sweet and efficient.

Everything that we had was great but the Étouffée was probably one of the best that I have had outside of Louisiana. That is not easy to do. I have tried it at so many other places and they never get it right. These guys have it going on. If you can't get to Louisiana go to Cajun Phatty's.

Arrived for dinner at 6 PM on a Saturday night, October 2, 2021 and the place is completely closed. They serve dinner but they're not open at dinner time. This makes no f'ing sense

Maybe if one of the morons that works there would bother to update their website or yelp page so that people wouldn't drive and find out they're closed. So sick of people that can't run a business properly!

After a recent trip to New Orleans, we were FAR more impressed with Cajun Phatty's than anything we ate there. We tried the Kitchen Sink Jambalaya, the Seafood Platter, and the Cheesy Grits. Absolutely incredible flavor. We will definitely be back! 10 out of 10!!

We tried this place when we were in Billings about a week ago. It's nothing like real Cajun food. Not a place that I would try again.

Delicious! I ordered the Cajun shrimp and cheesy grits, extra spicy and they definitely listened to my request on the spice.
The only negative on our entire order was that we wished there were more protein in the dishes. My shrimp and grits only came with about 4 small bites of sausage and 4 smaller shrimp. Doesn't seem worth the cost.
Over all It was still delicious. We also tried the gator bites and the jambalaya.
Aside from being a bit overpriced for the quantity, we'd still recommend.

My boss and I really really really wanted to love this and I was excited for some Cajun food. Our dishes were all right but I didn't get what I was looking for. I may have ordered the wrong dish, went with the jambalaya. We also had some Boudin balls. Our waitress was unfamiliar with Cajun food and recommended a non-Cajun item when we asked her what was good. I know post Covid everything is a bit tough with staffing and such and seating, as we sat outside in a cute little tent.

Absolutely delicious. I had the bourbon ribs over dirty rice with a side of fries, and it did not disappoint. The the ribs had the perfect amount of kick and the fried biscuit was good enough to be a dessert. Only thing I’d change if the fries. They were good, but lacking the Cajun zing I was hoping for. Check this place out, it’ll impress.

We stopped by to have lunch and got their ribs for an appetizer. Almost an Asian BBQ flavor. Super tender and delicious.
For entrees we got the alligator basket with fries and the catfish po boy. The alligator was crispy and very delicate. Very good with their ranch and horseradish aioli. The hubby got their shrimp bo boy which came on a toasted roll with tomato and lettuce and dill sauce. Very tasty. Great servers and comfortable atmosphere. Would recommend for sure.

The food was pretty good. The frog legs were fine but didn't do much for me. The breading was good which leads me to believe the fried chicken would be great. I had the kitchen sink jambalaya. While it was good, I which it had more of the kitchen sink (veggies) in it. It was mostly mildly spicy rice with meat. Having said that, the meats were tasty and they use a nice andouille sausage. My husband had a cup of gumbo which is something I don't usually like. I liked this gumbo! He also got the ettoufee which he said was good. For dessert, we shared the apple crisp. Wow. It was really

Second time here and it didn’t disappoint. This was the seafood platter, catfish’s and gator, yes alligator. Spot on, I haven’t had catfish in years and it was just as I remembered. The cheese grits were new to me, and will be a staple side in my house right next to the paella and gumbo.

More trendy than cajun. So disappointing. Ordered the 'kitchen sink jambalaya'. Chicken, beef, shrimp, and Andouille only the meats were tossed in dry dirty rice. Not much of a flavor party going on there.

High priced for the portion size.
