The name Cavatore and it's coat of arms is over 800 years old and comes froma small medieval village in Northern Italy, near Acqui, in Piedmonte: land of the famous Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto d'Alba wines; truffles and of course fantastic food! We have catered numerous off site events for various industries including hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, corporations in Downtown and oil and gas companies in the Energy Corridor.
We can handle all the details and are happy to work with your staff to make sure that your event is a success. I stopped here because the parking lot is always crowded in the evenings. I was not disappointed. Their marinara sauce is fantastic, so I am sure all of their pasta dishes are tasty. I had a side of penne pasta with the marinara.

Services
When we came to this wonderful country, we were received with open arms - and we're happy here. We wanted to put something in our restaurant that would symbolize Texas and the United States, and found this hundred year old barn in Bastrop. We carefully collected memorabilia from all over Italy that would depict the last hundred years of our country.
Cavatore's offers a variety of rooms for company dinner parties, large groups, vendor socials or other events that are planned throughout the year. Cavatore Italian Restaurant will assist in making your event as formal or informal as you would like. Please note all changes to your menu have to be given to us 5 days prior to the event date.

Food & service from waiter was good, however the evening ended on very poor note due to extremely poor hospitality from manager on duty Sat night, 1/29/22. My group had a 7pm reservation for (4) and we were seated at 7:15. After casual dinner with cocktails, wine, food, and dessert, we were finishing our coffee/after dinner drinks and talking casually when the manager approached our table and told us “we closed at 9:00 so you will have to wrap it up quickly and leave.”….. it was 9:45 at this time and we had already just paid our bill and literally were just finishing cup of coffee, about

It was my first time here. I loved the ambiance. The pianist/guitarist were perfect. The service was great. The food was so good! One of us had the filet that was so tender! Another had the salmon tarragon that looked amazing. I had the Italian sausages cooked in a brown gravy with sauteed peppers. The whole experience was so good i forgot to take pictures! It was delicious! I'll be back.

I really enjoyed this place. Their garlic bread is great, and with the marinara sauce and parmesan it becomes amazing. I had their lemon veal w mushrooms, and it was great as well. Ambiance is very nice with plenty of tables and even some secluded spots. A patio is available if the weather is nice. I would go again.

The ambiance and service is wonderful. They offer gluten friendly accommodations. There are weekly specials and there website contains more information and specifics on their weekly specials. I believe there is 1/2 Price Bottle of Wine and Specialty Drink Discount nights. Check out their website for more info. Live music via piano was played on the weekend.

Very disappointed. In a barn? Yes, no problem, except why when the temperature is 70 outside is the AC blowing full blast - had anything been served hot it wouldn't stay that way for long. Most people had their jackets and on because it was so cold inside.
Were any of the chicken dishes made recently? If they were then they were overcooked - because they were dry. My guess is frozen and out in the oven to heat up? And I'm pretty sure the pasta was made earlier today, heated, and then sauce tossed on top - 8 out of the 10 of us all commented on how dry it was.
This is NOT the place

My husband and I went downtown for a doctor's appointment. My husband used to go downtown for work and mentioned having lunch at Cavatore. We ordered pasta pescadore and veal Marsala. We got bread and ordered 2 glasses of wine. After sometime, we asked the waiter if we got a salad with our entrees. He said not at lunch. So, I looked up the lunch menu on google. Entrees were less by about $5. Just thought we had accidentally gotten the dinner menu by mistake. Check came, charged dinner prices. We talked to the manager. So yes, if you get it for lunch(same price as dinner), you don't

Really enjoyed this place. We had an event here of about 20 ppl and place was very accommodating with space and service. I enjoyed many of the dishes like the escargot which was done differently than the traditional way I have had it. This one was set in a creamy white sauce that paired very well with the bread. Also the ravioli appetizer was very well done. Got a pizza to go to have during the World Series...Go 'Stros. Definitely hit the spot. I can tell by the group's reaction that they truly enjoyed their dishes as well. Definitely will be back.

Love love love this place! It’s my favorite Italian restaurant. I’m a creature of habit and always order the same dish (spaghetti bolognese add meatballs) and it’s amazing! The staff is always so wonderful and the atmosphere is great. I’ve been there a few times and they’ve had live music on weekends. Great place for a romantic date night.

I ordered through Uber Eats. I was a bit busy, so I picked up my order late and when I went the restaurant was closed. I was fine with picking it up once they reopens at 5PM, so I called and left a voicemail, but they NEVER called me back. They gave me this bogus excuse of they didn't have the code to the machine. Management is making it so complicated to give me my food once I had already paid for it. They are giving me the run around and want me to get a refund to just repurchase it. They refused to give me my food. Horrible customer service. Booo!

Just got turned away at 5.30pm for 2 adults and a toddler tonight (Saturday) because we didn't have a reservation yet the restaurant was empty! Went on to open table and could book at table at 5.45pm for 3 people. Needless to say we didn't! If you don't want our money we will happily spend it somewhere else!

My wife had been interested in this place and we happened to be close to here and wanted to try it. It was Saturday evening and almost full with reservations but the hostess kindly found us a table. Atmosphere was an interesting mix of a Texas rustic feel and traditional Italian deco. Staffers, including our server, were very friendly and attentive. We had Fettuccine alla Carbonara and Spaghetti Marinara with Bolognese sauce, and Tiramisu for dessert. Each main dish came with a side salad (my wife really liked the creamy ranch dressing) and the meal started with complimentary bread. All the food

Interesting concept of "Texas Roadhouse" interiors meets Italian food. Service was quite slow overall. A wait to refill waters, get our orders, etc. My husband ordered a pork chop and it was way over done to what he'd asked for it like, the spinach greens were way too salty. I got the manicotti which was also quite salty. In general, slow service and salty food. We had good company but the dinner itself left something to be desired.

Amazing!
Ambience is a little confusing but the food is immaculate.
The bread provided before the meal was a delight.
The proportioned, buttered bite were a great change from the normal log of bread provided at other place
We ordered the lasagna & carbonara, and they were spectacular.
Make your reservation, you won't regret it

First, the online hours on Google are different than the hours on THEIR website....and neither one are correct. Call before you go to see if they will be closing soon....
We got there thinking there were hours of business time left just to find out they were closing in 30 minutes. I ordered the pasta pescatore and it was just not good. All of the clams, mussels etc were chewy like a rubber band. The shrimp was OK though. My date was also not happy with his meal, but he had been there before and kept saying maybe it was because they were about to close?
The waitstaff was exceptional though

I really hate to do this, as I love this place. We decided to celebrate a 60th birthday here, a very special occasion. I mentioned it in the reservation and called 3 days before hand to ensure they knew. Unfortunately, we did not have the experience we were expecting. Everything was so slow. No one would wait on us but the waitress. And she was overwhelmed. I asked 8 times for bread, yes, I timed it, it took 49 minutes to arrive - and yes, as I said, I asked 8 times to a bunch of different people. Yet, other tables around us who arrived after us got bread. Some got seconds while we waited for

We arrived 8 minutes before closing and the matradee said we would be served if we don't mind the closing reset. Both of us we delighted with our choices pasta with meatballs and lasangna and they were great. Deep slow cooked flavors and the bread was drenched in bitter ( maybe not good for you but wonderfull to dregs in sauce. Enough said we now have a new destination restaurant

I loved everything about this place! I seen the mixed reviews and maybe they don't know good food because everything we had was AMAZING!! The chicken alfredo was everything, thick sauce lots of chicken & full of flavor. My son got a pizza and we were surprised he had the option of making his own pizza!! We thought that was pretty cool! The dessert was also mind blowing good!! I'm bringing my whole family here next time. Big portions as well.

Cavatore is our absolute favorite authentic Italian restaurant and the fact that it is family-owned is a plus.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly and the pianist is amazing. One of our favorite places to enjoy an intimate dinner and still feel comfortable at the same time.
The wine choices are great and their food is delicious. Our favorite is the Alfredo sauce and the house or Ceasar salad. Their appetizers are also great, there hasn't been a menu item we've ordered and not enjoyed. This restaurant has been a Houston gem for over 25 years and it's no surprise
