Vintage Cowboy
Vintage Cowboy Winery was inspired by our family heritage of cowboys, western lifestyle, and our love for ranching in San Luis Obispo County. We believe in cowboy values and keeping the western way of life alive. For five generations the Arnold family has lived and worked on the original ranch land in Pozo, raising beef cattle, horses, and farming a variety of crops.

We planted our 32 acre vineyard in 1995. The vineyard sits beneath the Santa Lucia Mountain Range where it benefits from the coastal influence coming through the mountain passes. The extreme temperature fluctuation during the growing season results in uniquely flavorful wines.
Services
Steve and Debbie Arnold planted their vineyard in 1995 and Steve manages all vineyard operations. Aside from overseeing the vineyard, Steve serves on the California State Farm Bureau Board, and the San Luis Obispo County Cattleman's Board. Steve was also voted Agriculturalist of the year in 1999 by his peers.
These grapes were hand-picked, de-stemmed and cold-soaked on the skins to extract bright aromatics and crisp flavors true to this varietal. We used all free-run. Round yet delicate, this wine shows aromatics of stone fruit, rose petals and candied raspberry. It is dry, clean, and crisp with a soft berry.

If you are looking for a very nice, kind and fun family run winery this is it. Seriously the best Merlot we have ever had and served by really cool people who have been on the land for 100+ years. Definitely worth the drive and a great place to spend an afternoon. Thanks guys for a great afternoon, great conversation and GREAT wine! :)

The owners poured the wine themselves, and were extremely gracious and interesting regarding local history. I especially loved the zinfadel. We had some great burgers next door at the Pozo Saloon.

My favorite winery in the region. Far from other Paso wineries, but worth the drive. Beautiful views, quiet open space, perfect to get away from the noise and sip a good glass of wine (and bring a picnic lunch). People are always friendly and many a good conversation has been had here.

Drove out to Pozo for the first time last weekend, and wondered into this winery. Such a pleasant and delicious surprise. Both the whites were lovely, but the reds where great. One of the wine makers was pouring that afternoon, and it was such a treat . To learn about the area, The wine making and her family going back 5 generations. It is a very chill place, bring some nibbles and hang out for a while.
