Nichols Winery is a small winery, established in 1991 to produce ultra premium wines with limited production of each Varietal. The winery produces Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Meritage and Zinfandel. The winery is in Paso Robles, CA. The Nichols brand is an ultra premium brand with attention to quality and detail over quantity.
The wine is aged in 100% French Oak and further aged for 10 years in the bottle before release. The Soleil and Terroir brand is also a ultra premium brand with attention to quality over quantity. The wine is aged in 70% French oak and 30% American Oak. The wine is also aged in the bottle for 10 years before release.

Nichols Winery is a small winery which was established in 1991 to produce ultra premium wine with limited production of each Varietal around the 1,200 case level. Chardonnay was the initial Varietal to be produced while Pinot Noir followed in the 1993 vintage. In 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Pinot Blanc were also produced.
Nichols Winery & Cellar's tasting room is the first winery in Atascadero, California USA. It offers 3 brands of wines: Nichols Brand, Soleil & Terroir Brand and Silver Fox Brand, with vintages as far back as 1993 vintage. From: Los Angeles; head north on 101 freeway. Go past Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo to Atascadero.
The first six (6) artist bottles are an Estate Bottled Central Coast 1995 Pinot Noir, and the second six (6) artist bottles are Estate Bottled Central Coast 1996 Pinot Noir, both selected by Winemaker Keith Nichols and Notable Artist Max Shertz. The wine collection consists of 12 bottles each depicting a modern famous artist.

Something is very wrong in this industrial storage facility.
1. The tasting list was last updated 2.5 years ago. The list has the date on it. See photo.
2. During a tour of the storage facility we saw over 1000 cases of wines - most of which were from a 2003 vintage and some whites dated back to the 1990's. If the list prices for his wines are to believed, this would be about $500,000 worth of unsold inventory that is 15-25 years old.
