Founded in 1982, Power House is located in Gonzales, Louisiana, just outside of Baton Rouge. We are a 12 step based program that marries therapeutic techniques with volunteer service commitments and recreational activities. Power House is geared towards young men ages 17 and up that have completed primary treatment and are ready to slowly assimilate back into society.

Our highly competent and caring staff are comprised of licensed Clinical Social Workers, Masters Level Social Workers, and licensed Addiction Counselors.
Services
Power House is based on a therapeutic 12 Step Model. Research and experience indicate that the group milieu, participation in family therapy, individual therapy and 12 Step immersion is the treatment of choice for dealing with substance use disorders accompanied by co-occuring disorders. Each client is assessed on an individual basis, which correlates with the treatment process and length of stay.
The surrounding area maintains a strong industrial work force with many opportunities for employment, volunteer work and school. Clients participate in educational programs such as attending high school, pursuing a GED or attending college. Along with the structured recovery program, clients are actively engaged in a local health club, community service, recreational activities and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and activities.
Most families that face addiction of a loved one have no idea what will be required of them to contribute to their loved one's recovery. That was certainly the case with us as plans were being made for our son to travel from a facility in Montana to Power House in Gonzales, Louisiana - a place we had never heard of in a part of the country with which we had little familiarity.

As a graduate of this place, I can honestly say I couldn’t be more thankful to have been given the opportunity to go here. Without them, I honestly don’t know if I would still be sober 5 years later. I was in a real dark place when I arrived here, I know if I went back home after primary I would have relapsed. You receive nothing but support when you are a patient here. They shaped me into the man I am today, and I still have some of the best friends I could ask for. I arrived when I was 17, which is unusual because I was by far the youngest there. The counselors were great, they showed us
