Two stars because the aesthetic and the music are popping!
“oh no we’ve been hit with a gen z restaurant.”
I ordered the Sake Sangria and ended up sending it back. I won’t rag on it because it might just be my personal taste. The pork gyoza was simply ok. It had no flavor and honesty was only decent because it was fried. The tonkatsu ramen (which the hostess had no clue what it was) was OILY, flavorless and came with spaghetti noodles. These people have no business running a Japanese restaurant.
My allergies immediately flared up, probably due to the decor… The bathroom was out of

It had to have been one of the worst dining experiences that I ever had. First, we were seated by the door and had to literally eat with our coats on. The restroom had no hot water to wash your hands. Our group was never offered any more drinks after the first round. The food was just ok.. our meals were served so sporadically that some were already done before others started. The wagyu beef was super fatty. Our waitress never cleared our appetizer dishes . I could go on and on. I will not go back.

Cool vibes, cool atmosphere, good food, but a bit pricey. Went here with my gf for a fancy dinner. Drinks were tasty, food was delicious, but just a bit on the expensive side. Everything could've been $5-$6 cheaper tbh. Just my opinion. Try it once if you have to, but vibes are definitely nice in this restaurant.

Bummer - we tried to order takeout from here tonight, and were told you have to come in and order at the bar. There's no way to order ahead and simply pick up. Seems silly not to be in the takeout game after Covid. Tried to support them but it's too hard to park with a baby and sit in a bar to order. Plus, I don't think there dinner crowd would appreciate our little one impatiently waiting. I even explained we had a little one and we love to simply run in and pick up. Unfortunately for them, they weren't interesting in taking our money. Nakama here we come!

My four friends and I had a very enjoyable dinner here prior to attending Oklahoma at the Benedum Theater. I had the roasted brussel sprouts and Robata Salmon. Both were very tasty. The salmon was exceptionally rare with the skin crispy from the Robata charcoal grill. 3 of my friends had the Pad Thai, 2 with Wagyu and 1 with chicken. They all were very happy with their choice. My 4th friend had the Robata Pork Belly and loved it. Our server, Jasmine was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is gorgeous and comfortable. Beer and wine selections are limited, but satisfactory. This is a great place

It saddens me to leave such a negative review but it must be talked about. Before the pandemic, I used to confidently call Social House 7 my favorite restaurant. Over the pandemic, I would constantly check to see when they would be reopening every few weeks. My first time back was last night and I had a $60 meal and was disappointed in everything I had. The sushi quality is not the same and my friend and I both agreed that the dishes that we ate tasted like Chinese food from a mall Food Court, nowhere close to the beautiful Japanese fusion it used to be. It wasn’t like this before and the prices

Great interior, awesome food and cocktails. I especially want to eat their Brussel sprouts appetizer every day for the rest of my life, it was so good! Salmon nigiri was so tender and perfect, dining companion really enjoyed the Wagyu beef. Great robata. We'll be back!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Social House 7 for their reopening. We were immediately welcomed by multiple staff members at the door. Our server, Jasmine, was delightful and extremely attentive! We got multiple Apps, Sushi, and two entrees on the wood fire grille. The food was a 10/10! The manager made a point to check on all of the guests a few times. Highly recommended!

We have eaten here many times in the past and they had great food. We loved it so much we decided to do a weekend class on how to make our own sushi and sake pairing. Due to the pandemic the class kept getting postponed to the following month and we were not given the option to get a giftcard or our money back. We have agreed months in a row to do the class again but now for this month, it doesn’t work for us and we have emailed/called to get our money back and they have not responded to us for over a month. They can’t assume that the following month will work for us due to different

Had an amazing experience at Social a House 7. The food was great and the service was on point. Special thanks to Drew who took our experience to another level. He was curtious, kind, upbeat and positive - all qualities that reflect positively on the restaurant and its reputation. My first time experience was great, and I can’t wait to come back. Strongly recommend this restaurant.

I came for a friends birthday dinner and was very skeptical since I am not a sushi person but I was pleasantly surprised! We ordered the Chee Chee Brussels sprouts, absolutely amazing! Very flavorful and the Kim chi sauce is a great touch. I also tried an egg roll which was also very good. As an entree I had the ginger fried rice with shrimp added. I know it's basic but that was super good. I had the Kung Fu Punch as a cocktail. For a sake drink it is very sweet, which is what I prefer. But overall great experience, excellent service. Would definitely visit again.

"Look like a steakhouse. Sound like steakhouse." But taste like an Asian fusion place.

Our delayed flight to Pittsburgh didn't allow me to tour the beautiful city of Steelers, Heinz Ketchup and Carnegie Mellon college, so we grabbed a bite to eat. Within walking distance from downtown Renaissance hotel is Social House 7 on 7th Ave.

The spicy oil on the adamame was yummy. I could sense garlic, soy, jalapeno and many flavors.

I tried the Scallop Pad Thai, which was differently delicious. My friend had the Bibimbap, which had an excellent garnish.

Two thumbs up.

Wonderful atmosphere, staff, and food. Staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu items. Food was unique and flavorful.
I docked 1 star for a few reasons: the chairs are uncomfortable to sit in (if you want to lean back or even touch the back of the seat) and needed a bit of maintenance, while the sake list is extensive there isn't a single sparkling sake, the floors are difficult to walk on in heels (slick and uneven), and while beautiful, the bathrooms need some maintenance as well (door locks and missing tiles) and a better method to dry off hands after washing.

Recently a friend had his birthday celebration here with dinner and drinks. What a wonderful evening it was. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming with a friendly staff.
The cocktails are good and the food is even better. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants downtown.

Hands down one of the best happy hours in Pittsburgh!! I love that it's later than most other happy hours--5-7pm, Monday thru Friday. They have $4 sake bombs and sake carafes, $5 cocktails and appetizers, and half off select sushi rolls. It makes for a great, cheap dinner. The chee chee brussels sprouts are a MUST. Even if you dont like brussels sprouts. Get them. You're welcome. I also love their giant fortune cookie dessert. It's fun to come here in a group as the food is the perfect size for sharing. The service is always friendly, but can be slow sometimes.

For being an Asian themed restaurant, I think the food could've been executed better. I only got a sushi roll though so I would definitely try this place out again.

I sat at the bar and ordered two Moscow mules. They were very tasty! The atmosphere is great inside, the decor is fabulous!

Last night was my second time dining at Social House 7. I had the same waiter as I did the first time and he is truly exceptional at his job! The food was amazing, again. We shared the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, then shared two sushi rolls for dinner, and a banana egg roll for dessert (not on the everyday menu though). If you go, be sure to ask for John! He provides an excellent experience!!

Great food....service was a good pace...got there at 5:30 and had tickets to the symphony for 7:30. Got there in plenty of time!
Though it definitely picked up business in there after 6.
Sushi was excellent! We tried the Green Forest Rolls, Shrimp Tempura Rolls & Lobster Tail Rolls. We also tried the Pork Belly Skewers &the Wok Charred Rice Cakes.
Plenty of food for two people!

Our first experience eating there was just okay. The ramen was fairly disappointing, and the sushi roll I had was mediocre. The saving grace was the scallops.
Our second visit was much better. The pork belly skewer appetizer was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, the steak in the bibimbap was also wonderfully done, and I had probably the best tofu I've ever had there. The outside was crisp but still easy to cut through and the inside was warm and it melted in your mouth.
