Bernadette, the manager, wouldn't look our way and just said they would not accommodate a party of 6 and didn't even acknowledge us. There were about 6 tables outside with plenty open. Very rude and unprofessional.

We came as a big group of 11 & Justin was such a wonderful host! Wine tasting was delicious but all reds so if you want some variety, ask for something different. The Callo Rosso was my fave!

This wine tasting was recommended by a local winemaker Lisa Kennelly from Diamond Vineyards.
The wine was good the selection vast. The best part was Kio our wine server. Her personality and enthusiastic manner were superb! The grounds were beautiful. Tastings were large pours and only $20.
You will be happy stopped at Hye (high) Winery.

This is a beautiful place with the most friendly staff. Came for a tasting, but was really in the mood for a white and lunch. Sat on patio which was super comfortable. I highly recommend here (you'd better make a reservation on the weekend); I think you'll find it most enjoyable.

We did the production tour and tasting and it was absolutely amazing. Justin did a great job explaining all the different processes that go into making the different wines. We could not have asked for a better experience. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the big flashy places and go enjoy this mom and pop set up. Wine is great also.

Nice winery on your way to Fredericksburg. Beautiful back patio and property. Disappointed that sandwiches are only sold on weekends. Wine was good and service was awesome.

Loved the laid back atmosphere, the customer service, their lovely dog Silas and the musician from Nashville who happened to be playing there on Sat. The food is average (hummus doesn't taste like hummus) but the wines vary from average to above average in the tasting flight. It's a more casual, less crowded place compared to the other bigger wineries around so we felt quite relaxed.

Hye Meadow is such a relaxing and wonderful winery. My fiancé and I stopped by here earlier this week and we fell in love with the location. I absolutely loved the patio and the views! Not to mention, the wine here is AWESOME!! I enjoyed a wine tasting, so I had the opportunity to try different types of wines and Y'ALL!!! Every single type of wine that I had was INCREDIBLE. You cannot go wrong here! Thank you Hye Meadow for the wonderful experience!

Stopped by here just over a week ago and absolutely loved it! It's a beautiful location and we had a wonderful tasting. The wines are fantastic and we ended up buying three bottles. Justin was pouring for us and he was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We got the cheese board to pair with our wines and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

Great first winery for my first time in FBG!
Such a pretty spot with a great building. Lots of outside seating.
We were a larger group, but they managed to acclimate us without a reservation. We sat down and a handful of us opted for the red wine tasting. To do a tasting, you have to also order food. So we shared a couple of the cheese boards—a great choice that paired perfectly with any wine. My only complaint was the olives in the bread. I love far more food than I don’t. But olives is certainly one of about 2-3 things I just cannot stand the taste of. So having them baked into the bread

Great wine is just the beginning of this cute winery. Everyone was so welcoming (but our fav is Jess). This is at the far end of 290 but worth the "little bit further". Cheers to this fine winery!

This winery was amazing! Customer service was fantastic. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas to enjoy wine(duh) and several charcuterie board options. We had a bit of a negative experience at Silver Dollar and were ecstatic to find friendly staff, highly welcoming and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the scenery, food and wine. We got 6 bottles here: 3 for me and 3 for him. Highly recommend, will definitely be back with the girls.

Loved this place. Not just to look at from the highway, you just see a big warehouse. But out back is beautiful hill country pastures, a beautiful tasting room, outdoor games, donkeys, and some of the best Texas wine you can drink. I've been all along Hwy 290 wine road a dozen times, sorry I didn't check this place out sooner.

Visited today and took a few of our friends because we previously had a good experience. This time we were completely ignored for about 20 minutes, staff helped other guests that showed up after us. When we were finally helped, we were seated then ignored again, we decided to walk out and went to another winery up the street with amazing customer service! Will not return nor recommend this winery to anyone. Horn winery up the street did such an amazing job with wonderful staff!

My husband and I did a bit of "winery hopping" last weekend and this was my favorite stop. They have both great wine AND a great view (I felt like other places had just one of the two.) All the staff were friendly, inviting, and helpful, especially Curt (or maybe Kirk?). We talked his ear off asking ALL THE QUESTIONS about wine. He actually helped us better figure out how to pick a wine that we like before even trying it. Great spot and I hope to return soon.

By far the BEST winery in Texas! The grounds are beautiful and the wine is incredible! I'm not much of a red wine person but I even love reds from Hye! I've never been disappointed in 6 years! If you are thinking of joining a wine club, this is the place to start your habit!
ENJOY!

Stopped by with a group on a wine tour. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The venue was beautiful. Plenty of outdoor patio seating. There is a decent sized wine bar for tastings with a nice warm feel to it.
They took our group to a large 2nd patio (there were 32 of us) and a very nice man with his dog presented a fantastic wine tasting. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic.
The wine was delicious! We sampled 5 or 6 dif wines and got full details all of them. Some traditional and another i had never tried before. The 16 Dolcetto is a delicious pinot noir and def my fav. The most interesting

Lovely setting, respectable wines bottle priced about 20% above what you pay for them at the grocery store. Nice grounds and facilities, so I am at peace with that. A competitive local option out of about a hundred wineries, most new in the past five years, within a 20 mile radius now, unreal.

A very good winery in Hye, one of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it small towns along the 290, on the way into Fredericksburg. Hye Meadow seems to specialize in 'blended' wines, for example their excellent 'Junkyard White' being a blend of Reisling and two other mild whites. The 'Junkyard' and the Edelzwicker were the top picks according to the server we chatted with, and I'd agree - very good sipping wine.

Though many people here like the interior, I found it a bit too modernistic and bare-bones for my taste. However, the outdoor patio space out back is heavenly
