For patients who have extensive decay or damage, full mouth rehabilitation may be necessary. Cosmetic dentistry is the step beyond the necessary maintenance and treatment done to insure health and functionality. We offer dental implants for patients with good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth.
Our patients are our family and you will become aware of our professional standards and the concern we have for your well being upon entering our office. If you have extreme phobias concerning in-office dental treatment that aren't sufficiently calmed by our attentive staff, they can largely be quieted by our House Call service where you are treated in the comfort and security of your home.
Treating Special Care dental patients has long been a specialty of Itani Dental. His practice welcomes and has been structured to receive Special Care referrals from colleagues who may not have the facilities, staffing, time, or focus to readily treat Special Care patients. Such patients include those who are geriatric, special needs, homebound, phobic, or otherwise medically compromised.

I arrived at the clinic nervous because for years I hadn't had the opportunity to do a deep cleaning, my appointment was at the exact time, points for it! but here are my points against:
1.- I had to ask what was the name of the person who was going to do the cleaning, At first didn't feel that he was nice, he just wanted to do his job and that didn't help with my nerves. 2.- If a person tells you that he is feeling everything you are doing in HER MOUTH you have to LISTEN, I had to repeat many times that I was feeling everything he was doing, and he told me that the only thing

Really nice staff and doctors. Visits are easy to schedule and very quick, with high standard of care. They have taken care of all my needs and have referred me to Orthodontists as needed. I really liked that they considered all my factors- financial and orthodontics need- and helped me find good care. If they wanted, they could have just had me do a regular Invisalign treatment, but due to my specific situation needing additional orthodontics care, they referred me to the right place.

Like many others, I have a poor habit of committing to a consistent bi-annual check; however, i've been to Itani Dental twice in the past month for a clean-up and some fillings.
The staff is very friendly and attentive to every single question you ask. My experience has been with Dr. Smith and he's fantastic. He walks you through every step of the way which definitely helps for those anxious folks and for the curious, it's educational.
I'm only reluctant to give a strong recommendation

Had a good experience with Dr. Travis Smith at Itani Dental. He was very detailed and communicable, which I appreciated. You get a lot more face time with the Dr. here than at most dental practices. Two minor complaints - the office seemed to double book which led to a decent wait past my scheduled appt. time and I worried the x-rays were a little excessive, they seemed to need to take 3x the number of x-rays vs. what I've experienced in the past with prior dentists.

Horrible experience for a number of reasons:
1) The time I originally scheduled via Zocdoc was not actually available. This required an annoying rescheduling process where I waited over 24 hours for a simple email.
2) One of the individuals working the front desk wasn't even wearing a mask. Are you kidding me? It's 2021 in San Francisco and a dentist's office -- this is honestly unacceptable and a makes me wonder what their hygiene standards are overall.
3) I didn’t actually get to see Doctor Itani, which was extremely disappointing. Instead, I saw some other doctor. I researched Dr. Itani

I went to see Dr Itani for a second opinion after a new dentist told me I needed all manner of expensive work. I liked him and his staff so much I stayed with them, and they validated my suspicions that I might be getting upsold.
However! They agreed with the other dentist that two adjacent crowns needed to be replaced, and one of those teeth needed a root canal re-treated. Dr. Itani continues to show tremendous care and craftsmanship through his practice. Love this dentist office! I've been a patient for 8+ years and even though staff has changed, everyone I've ever encountered has been amazing. From the person who emails back with answers to my questions, to the receptionists who check me in and schedule my next appointments, the dentists, hygienists, etc -- everyone is very kind, patient, and extremely efficient. The office has taken extra protocols due to covid and my last cleaning took exactly 60 minutes and felt very thorough. Impressive!

I was nervous going into my appointment because of a terrible experience a couple years ago elsewhere. However, the staff were the most welcoming and actually took the time to read my information and reference it throughout the appointment. Made the experience all the more personalized and helped me relax.
During the cleaning, the team were very gentle and gave me control of the process which made the whole thing go over better than I could have imagined. I am glad that I am in their hands!

Just like everyone out there I get super nervous to go to a new dentist, but honestly everyone at Dr. Itani’s office was the kindest; they make you feel relaxed and they are very professional. Both Dr Smith and Dr. Itani are professional and caring. The hygienist was very helpful and very good.

My wife, Mary, has dementia, is 100% bed bound, unable to verbally communicate, and combative with some care givers. Dr Itani and his staff have been incredible for me. I had an accident requiring emergency dental care during the height of the quarantine, and they were able to take me in that day. They provided excellent treatment - not only do I feel like my teeth are as good as new, but he has been great about explaining my prognosis and treatment plan.

AMAZING experience. I was on the hunt for a new dentist after my old one billed me twice for the same procedure....5 months after the fact. Yeah. (cough cough Young Dental SF cough cough)
Anyways, Itani dental was AMAZING! I had an 8AM appointment and came early to fill out my paperwork and they were there! The cleaning was SUPER thorough and done by the dentist. I had a 10AM meeting and was worried b/c their checkups normally take 2 hours (so thorough!!!) They rushed it and took so many types of pictures and did so many tests more than any dentist I've EVER been to. The service was amazing

Dr. Itani is a pro! He gets into you right away and addresses our situation in an instant. I just had an accident recently, I stumbled forward with my bike and smashed my face and teeth on the ground. I had 2 broken tooth, 1 tooth he repositioned and 1 tooth fell off completely out of my gums. When he saw me in the emergency that day, he repositioned my tooth right away and put a brace.

Nobody is perfect all the time - especially me. What differentiates people is how they act after something is less than perfect.
I had 5 fillings done by Itani Dental. One of them ended up causing some food to get stuck. I sent them an email and right away was scheduled back asap. The follow ups came at no extra cost.
I will continue to go here and fully recommend Itani.

Dr. Itani was super sweet himself and the dental hygienist was wonderful, but I had a pretty bad experience here. The staff came off as sales people who were trying to make me pay as much as they could.
First off, they're quite full, and I had to book around 2 months in advance in order to get an appt. I came in for a routine cleaning and checkup. Dr. Itani was thorough and detailed and gave me very good information. He did try to up-sell me for a touch up on my cavity fills, which are due for a touch up, but nothing I needed immediately.
But then came the issue, because I rejected the
