TJ Dance began in 1984. Jayne was instructing aerobics classes at the time with a dear friend Terry Foster. They went by the name "TJ Goodbody" Ahh haa The answer to the most ask question "Where does the "T" come from in TJ Dance?" Aerobics was fun, but Jayne REALLY missed dancing! Glen & Jeri Kuntz had a space in their "tanning salon" below "Alices" (for you ol' locals) and encouraged Jayne to give teaching dance classes a try.

She started in March of 84 with 2 classes and all 14 students put on their first recital at Cherry Valley Elementary in June - just 2 months after they started. All the costumes were hand made (bulk material bought by Jayne spread out all over the dance floor for the "cut out the pattern" party!). All the music was recorded off albums onto a cassette tape.
Services
NOTE: All tuition is due the 1st dance class of the month. If you pay after the 15th of the following month, a late fee may be added to your tuition. Over the 10-month dance year the class days per month average out to 4 per month. Tuition is based on the average and therefore is not decreased for short months nor increased for 5-week months.
Sweet little darlins! And if you flip to the next picture, you'll see the last memory picture without cutting off Annelise and Emily. Sorry girls #_tjdance #tjdancerocks #tjdance. This 30-minute class is designed for toddlers/preschoolers ages 18 months-3 years old, along with a caregiver. Baby Steps is a great transition for littles who aren't yet ready to leave mom/dad/caregiver.
It is important for us to have current information, i.e. parent contact numbers and emergency numbers. Any questions regarding registration or tuition, please check with Margie, our office manager. She is at the studio on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. We have a recital ticket raffle every month.
Jayne began taking dance classes in Youngstown, Ohio in 1959 at almost 3. Her Aunt Flo opened a small studio and had been training in the "Al Gilbert" method of teaching Tap Dance (Al is still the "voice" of tap at TJ Dance) Then came the early 60s and most of Jayne's family moved to the San Fernando Valley in California.
I love taking dance class with Jayne at tj dance. She is very inspirational and does poetic justice on the dance floor. I'm so glad I am part of her dance team. I'm so jazzed up that next year I will not only continue my jazz dancing but also will take tap classes so I can tap my way into the next chorus line!

My experience with TJ Dance goes back to 1988 when my daughter started tap class. I joined the adult tap class a year or two later and am still enjoying my weekly dance classes and performances at the our annual recital. The teachers are dedicated to sharing their passion for dance with kids and adults of all body types and abilities. They are the best!

TJ Dance is a supportive and welcoming place for anyone to share their love of dance. It has always been a wonderfully theraputic atmosphere away from the hectic everyday hussle of life.
