Colonoscopy lets your doctor examine the lining of your large intestine (colon) for abnormalities by inserting a thin flexible tube, as thick as your finger, into your anus and slowly advancing it into the rectum and colon. This instrument, called a colonoscope, has its own lens and light source and it allows your doctor to view images on a video monitor.
We look forward to meeting you in our office for your gastroenterology consultation. Please complete documents beforehand and bring in to your visit along with a photo ID and current insurance card. Below is a list of possible preparations your doctor will ask you to follow prior to your procedure.

Trials may be designed to assess the safety and efficacy of an experimental therapy, to assess whether the new intervention is better than standard therapy, or to compare the efficacy of two standard or marketed interventions. The trial objectives and design are usually documented in a clinical trial protocol.

I delayed several years getting a colonoscopy as it didn't seem like a necessary nor pleasant thought. After enough calls from my doctor urging me to take as good care of my insides as I try to do my outsides, I scheduled the procedure. I live in San Carlos and was told about DCMC. Net net is that the procedure was made quite pleasant given the professional, engaging and lovely nursing and front office staff..Sue, Jill and Kathy are truly fabulous nursing staff and I'm recommending DCMC to others who have the option to go here! :-)
