I'm frequently asked, "Why did you decide to be a Registered Dietitian?" From a young age I knew I wanted to be in a health profession, but my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 41 and this greatly influenced my decision to learn more about nutrition and its effects on medical conditions.

Instead of guessing which foods or food groups to eliminate, a food sensitivity test can pinpoint which foods are most important to eliminate initially and test how your body responds. I signed on to work with Jill because I wanted to lower my cholesterol so I could stop taking the statin I was on. I was immediately impressed by her reasonable, common-sense approach to tailoring a plan to help me change my eating habits. Jill has a kind and gentle approach with her clients. When I came to her, I needed to lose weight for health reasons, and I needed to retrain myself as to what healthy eating could actually look like for the picky eater I was. She worked with my preferences to give me ideas for snacks and meals, but the longer I looked at my narrowed list I knew I could push myself and I was adding beets to my smoothies and cutting down to almost “zilch” added sugars all day.

I wanted to work with Jill because she is a Registered Dietitian and came highly recommended. Jill was able to use the medical information and blood work I got from my doctor to help me understand what food changes I needed to make. It was extremely important that my diet was realistic and doable for me. Because my husband was okay with me sitting in on his appointment with Jill, I experienced first-hand her understanding, non-judgmental, professional and yet friendly demeanor throughout the appointment. Jill provides occasional classes at my office, which are always well organized, topical and actionable. I am on her email list and get periodic updates from her, which I always find interesting and useful. I bought her book, 400 Moms, and I love it. So many great tips, recipes and ideas.
