Cliff Lede founded his eponymous winery on the Yountville Cross Road in 2002. The estate grew to include the hillside vineyard above Silverado Trail that Cliff named the "Poetry Vineyard." In 2005, he opened Poetry Inn, creating one of Napa Valley's most secluded luxury retreats. The sophisticated five-suite hotel is a hidden gem, nestled amongst Cabernet Sauvignon vines high above the valley floor just outside of Yountville.
We invite you to indulge your senses with our unique spa offerings, personalized curated activities, outdoor adventures, and access to exclusive winery experiences, including our very own Cliff Lede Vineyards. A relaxing visit to our serene spa suite is the perfect way to begin or end your day in wine country.
Expansive suites with elevated views and personalized service just minutes away from the town of Yountville. Our suites range in size from 950 square feet to 1,450 square feet of living space. The bustling town of Yountville, home of some of the country's top restaurants, is only a 5-minute drive away.
Emily Dickinson is the only guest suite on the northwest corner of the inn. Contemporary style doors open onto a spacious terrace, overlooking the beautiful vineyards below. Considered an eccentric by locals, Dickinson was a prolific writer. While she wrote almost 1,800 poems over the course of her lifetime, only 10 were ever published, along with one letter.
The Walt Whitman suite encompasses 980 square feet of space on the lower floor. It is located in the middle of the building, facing west, with a covered balcony featuring a hanging daybed. The king size bed looks out onto the balcony and beyond, offering views upon awakening. The spacious spa-style sunken bathroom is slightly smaller than a squash court and features an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a large soaking tub.

A slice of heaven...
This small, almost boutique hotel was so very charming, the way it is set up, you enter and feel almost like you are the only one there.

Greeted with wine and cheese, a tour though the gardens and a stop to take in the breathtaking view, we were guided to our room, a very large room with a hammock off the room in a little alcove that was Tovar's and surrounded by trees, overlooking the vast scenery of the many vineyards below.

The bed almost swallowed you whole and helped drifting off to sleep so easy.

Breakfast was served in our room and by a picture window one morning

Stayed here with my husband for our anniversary. It is really a great place . With beautiful views, hospitality is great, the breakfast is wonderful, and their decor is so elegant but yet very cozy! We loved the floor warmer on the bathroom tile.
When we came in we were greeted at the door with wine and cheese platter and a tour of our room. Everyone was so helpful and always greeted you with a smile. I can't say enough about the Poetry Inn I can't wait to stay there again. It was well worth the money spent.
I failed to mention that we had arrived early and decided to stop at their

After discovering The Poetry Inn by chance a year ago, (unfortunately we were staying elsewhere) my fiancé and I agreed that this was the place to stay on our next visit to Napa Valley. When we decided to elope we had no trouble selecting it as our desired venue. When the fires hit the Napa region some months ago, we were definitely concerned, but based on assurances from staff we decided to stick with our plan.

After my recent visit to finalize plans and take a few days to familiarize myself, I am so happy to say that we made the right decision! Firstly, the surrounding area, and Inn grounds

Luxury accommodations at its finest. The Inn is gorgeous! We were greeted by the Inn keeper with wine and a cheese plate overlooking the valley from their balcony. After soaking in the ambience and enjoying our wine, we were showed to our room.
Our room was spacious with a big balcony looking out to the valley. We had a huge bathroom with a soaker tub and outdoor shower with hammock area to enjoy outside. The Inn also has a pool and hot tub. When we were there it was like our own private pool. In fact for our visit, we didn't see any other guests the whole time we were there. Definitely a

I truly didn't want to leave. We've just finished a 2 night stay and all I can say is that it was perfection. Everything about the Poetry Inn is easy and relaxing. It started with welcoming us at sunset with wine and cheese on the patio when we checked in. Mark and Daniel were amazingly helpful with dinner reservations, winery recommendations and were beyond gracious with their hospitality. The 3 course breakfast is an amazing way to start the day and the spirits and night cap selections in the evening are a great touch. Our suite was phenomenal, luxurious and just the quiet oasis we

Napa's best kept secret!!!
From the moment you drive up, you notice the attention to detail everywhere. The impeccably maintained property, has one of the best views of Napa Valley. You are welcomed by their world class innkeepers, Daniel, Henrike, Lisa and Marc. They are professional, courteous, genuine, knowledgeable and instantly your friends. Their in house culinary wiz, Chef Lynn prepares the most amazing breakfast, think Le Bouchon pastries, locally sourced eggs, vegetables and homemade granola!! Chef Lynn prepared our private terrace dinner, which I highly suggest you experience,

WOW. This place will not disappoint. It feels like your dream second home in Napa. The service is SO PERSONAL. They greeted us at the door, welcome gifts, a gorgeous room, views, amazing food. I can't say enough about this place. It is very romantic, so best for couples. I had breakfast on the terrace served by my personal chef and enjoyed a view over Yountsville. We are already planning our next stay.

Absolutely a fabulous place! My fiancée proposed at the Poetry Inn. It was a dream come true. Bob, the inn keeper, was very attentive. He made us feel welcomed and feel like royalty. A week later we got a card from him thanking us for our stay!! Now that's customer service.

The view was unbelievable!! We stayed on one of the suites with a balcony, outdoor shower, and heated bathroom floors. Loved, loved, this place. We will definitely go back!

We came here for our anniversary. Tis is one of only two places in the Napa Calley that have views. And the views are spectacular. We had breakfast on the balcony overlooking the valley. The room is fantastic: 4 poster bed, huge balcony, inside AND outside showers, hammock, large tub, wood burning fireplace, desk and wifi. We arrived early and had wine and cheese plate in the lounge while we waited. This is a small inn, only 5 or so rooms. The staff is great, Bob checked us in and was very helpful getting a dinner reservation. A very nice and beautiful young German lady took his place until

We had the chance to stay at Poetry Inn in May of 2013 and I must say it was incredible. Everything was top shelf! The property itself is perched on top of a hill and provides for magnificent views. The reception when we arrived was out of this world, we were able to enjoy the vista, some wine, cheese, and some delightful croissants.

Our room was absolutely perfect, beautiful furnishings, plush bed, indoor and outdoor shower, massive tub, and a expansive patio with lounge chairs. As an added bonus the poolside and hot tub that overlook valley, absolutely marvellous - something we did not expect

This property is UNBELIEVABLE. My fiance and I stayed here for one night over my birthday weekend, and we did not want to leave! Upon arrival at the inn, we were warmly greeted by Daniel (the innkeeper), who showed us over to the front veranda for a glass of wine and platter of delicious cheeses and olives. Daniel was extremely kind and friendly, and we felt instantly comfortable there. The inn overlooks the Napa Valley, and we sat admiring the gorgeous view of the vineyards for quite a bit before venturing up to our suite. It was hard to peel us away!

Once upstairs, we were in awe. The room

After a fantastic weekend, we were supposed to head home on Sunday late afternoon.

We were wine tasting at Cliff Lede and saw them advertising this place on a flat screen computer monitor. We asked about it and was told that it's gated and not really open to the public. However, given that it's Sunday afternoon, it might not be busy and we might be able to take a tour if we call ahead.

After calling, Chris - the Innkeeper, invited us up. He showed us around the place, which is absolutely magnificent with a gorgeous view of the Napa Valley. The place used to be a Bed-and-Breakfast
