North I 90 Get off at Sparta. Go: South on Hwy. 27 thru Leon, Melvina, Westby, and Viroqua. Continue through Viroqua about 5 miles. Turn: right on Hwy. 27/82. Go: 1 mile. Turn: left on Cty. J at Caboose. Go: 1 1/2 miles. Turn: left at Anderson Rd. Cabin is right there. Go to 2-story, cream-colored house for the key.

Decided to walk in on the chance of getting a late lunch.
Very welcoming with a good range of ales and beers
I had the roast from the carvery that was very fresh and well presented with helpings of food
My partner had the stake hougie .
Great portions and great service
I would highly recommend to stop off here excellent food and drink in a lovely atmosphere

Conservatory leaking, stood at the bar a while as 2 staff members discussed glasses and emptying glass washer although not busy at all.... both looked at me and did not acknowledge me.... I wore a mask and kept my distance but I felt like I was an inconvenience if I'm honest. Food ok.... customer service needs work

Went for a carvery at lunch table 1pm..we have been before and has been nice but Wasn’t great to be honest… beef was dry and and pork was mostly fat. The roast potatoes were over cooked and dripping in fat. We order two courses but after eating the roast changed our mind on the desserts and left. £30 for two roasts and a drink each.. not great! - on the up side staff are friendly and service was quick once we were seated though we probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

What a disappointment. We came here after a busy day out with kids- starving!
Butcher’s Burgers was our choice; one beef one chicken plus two kids meals. Both burgers came super dry with no sauces, very flat piece of tomato and super tired lettuce on verge of dying. Definitely could get better burger in chain fast food but for 1/4 of a price. Chips were dried inside and not even hot.
It’s quite dark in here so atmosphere is a bit depressing; add to it wobbly chairs and sticky tables.
When asked for bill no one actually came to us for ages so I had to go and pay. Also mistake on the bill

This is a great pub with good food. There is also a table service restaurant option. It is kind of attached to the Best Western hotel, so you can charge meals and drinks to your hotel room. There is a function room for larger events. It is busy at the weekends and between 6 and 8 most evenings. The staff are friendly and efficient.
