If you are looking for a nice neighborhood to rent a reasonable apartment, Parkside is a great choice. It's located between Rockville and Bethesda and is near a metro station. I have a condo that is a mile walk from my door to the platform (one of the longest walks because we are in the back of the complex) and it takes a little over 15 minutes each way.
The neighbors are generally very nice and helpful. We joined together during a large snowfall to help dig each other out of the parking lot and digging out a few seniors who were very appreciative of the help.

This place towed my car even though I'm a resident with a registered car and parking pass.
No one from the staff, or board of directors has apologized to me so far.
If this you're a condo owner here, and this review devalues your property, your are probably going to continue to get negative reviews until you replace the staff, and board of directors with better people and better policies.

All in my opinion:
Positives: The residents are quite nice! Great place for kids to play at the pool, and bike around!!
Negatives: Parkside has numerous negative aspects: First and foremost is the fact that these are very old apartments. They were built between the 60s-80s depending on which phase you are in. Phase I is the oldest. While being in the oldest unit may sound bad, it is actually better. This is because phases above may have asbestos collars installed in their HVAC units. While this is fine if the collar are not disturbed, if they are broken is will cause asbestos to leak into the

The condominium management here is terrible, and I mean terrible. This is literally the first review I have ever written in my life - I am only writing this so that others don't go through what I did with Parkside Condominiums.
When performing their annual inspection they came into to my home that was locked via the doorknob, checked the apartment, left and locked both the doorknob and the deadbolt. I rent here and was only provided with a key for the lock in the doorknob by the owner, not one for the deadbolt.
I came home from work to find that I could not get into my home. Parkside

...lived there not long ago. ...nothing to write home about. It's fairly quiet yet people here still complain about noise (doors slamming, kids jumping, TV, stereos, even water running in your apartment). The ones complaining are the ones that are making all the noise. However, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from the neighbors keys in the door to kids crying. Both kids and adult slam doors constantly and the whole building shakes. I have guests over and they asked why do that slam the doors so hard? The apartments are spacious yet drafty and cheaply made. I guess

Warning: Literally every single unit I have looked at here seems to have a serious mold/mildew problem. We originally rented a first level unit (semi underground) and noticed after 24 hours a SEVERE mildew odor seeping from the walls. There was a flood from the laundry room all the way into the storage area, soaking everything and ruining many people's furniture stored in there. We had to break our lease after just a few days because the mold was unbearably. With the flood happening in the first few days we were there, it's evidence they have a major problem with flooding in lower units

I've been living here for almost two years and the only reason I'm not renewing my lease is because I'm moving to Chicago. Like the person before me said, these tend to be condos that owners rent out and your experience most likely depends on your particular landlord. I live in one of the newer phases (Weymouth St). So here's a pros and cons list, because, well, I like lists.
Pros:
+ Large apartments
+ Cheap rent (utilities included)
+ Free and ample parking
+ Quiet area
+ Within walking distance of Grosvenor metro
+ Maintenance has always responded to my requests in a timely

I've lived in Parkside for a few months now. It is a large development, almost 1000 units, built in phases. I live in the oldest part, phase I. Many owners of these condos rent them out, which is my situation (renting). I know from experience and speaking with neighbors that your rental experience here really depends on your landlord. Mine is very good, so the condition of my apartment is good, although there is something of an infestation of stink bugs which no one seems to be able to address. The main thing Parkside offers is value - relatively low rents, relatively large units, near
