Can not say enough great things about Main St Auto - they took my car in did 150k service , checked everything out promptly and professionally - Daniel knows his stuff and advised the perfect service for my 2015 Jeep Renegade they also serviced our Nissan Titan. We will now have all our work done with them

I rarely leave reviews but felt it was important to share my experience with Main Street Automotive. Late Saturday we were driving to Apple Hill and my daughters car started overheating. We had the car towed to Main Street Automotive. They were closed so we had to leave it. Since we lived about an hour away we were anxious to have to leave it in the parking lot but the tow truck driver pointed out the security cameras and that it was right across the street from the police station. We placed the key in an envelope with our contact information and were able to put it in the after hours door slot

They quoted me on my brakes then fixed them, drove around a bit and then it felt off so brought car back and they said that i would need to add more to the calipers or something, not 100% sure as i am not a car person which is why i was counting on a car shop to do the work for me but it seems like they just want as much money as possible rather than fixing my car the 1st time

Incredible. I usually try to do my own work, but whenever I don't have time, or it's too big a project for me, I always bring it here. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and honest. If you go here, they will take care of you. Pricing is always reasonable, and if it's not, they'll let you know, and help you figure out what to do. From simple engine codes, to valve cover gaskets, to head replacements and full engine builds, they will do the work you need done to get back on the road. I originally went to Tom Sierra. Main reason was to have headlight bulb replaced and ask for tires to be rotated while I was there. I sat outside for little over 2 hours (as waiting area inside was blocked off) to be told they could not do it today but, we rotated your tires. Stopped at main street automotive. There lobby was full with customers too. They had the light bulb replaced in less than a 1/2 hour and I did not have to wait outside. Very professional and courteous. Highly recommend them.

I was from out of town and developed a possible issue with my vehicle that i didnt want to risk driving the long tow back home. They were very quick and responsive very fair and honest. I went to this establishment with my automobile, and I asked if they accepted car shield, he replied no, and that wasn't a problem, I ended up, paying for it our of pocket somewhere else, and that wasn't the problem, the problem was that he never really spoke to me, and really didn't give it a second care . I would have gladly paid him out of, pocket, but he didn't really seem customer oriented, and I'm so very glad that I took my money and business elsewhere, and I am known for referring, and being a a repeat customer, for the right company and people who really care

These guys did an *excellent* job.
Jeremy and Eric were incredibly professional, came in under their estimate, and repaired the broken axle on my '99 Corolla in an hour flat on a busy morning.

We started taking our older cars to Main Street Auto about 2 years ago. They have been very honest with work that needs to be done. They stand by their work. I have never had a problem getting in when my van has had emergencies. We moved to Folsom and we still will only trust them with our autos. We highly recommend them to everyone.

Picked this place for auto repair based on the positive reviews. It was a mistake. When I went to drop off my car to get looked at/repaired for occasionally stalling/engine shut down, the man at the front desk told me that because the problem is only occasional, they may not be able to fix it. Okay? This seems strange because an experienced mechanic should be able to take the info I provided, look under the hood, and solve the problem. I got a call 2 days later that the mechanic drove my car to Cameron Park and back and it never stalled or turned off, so there is nothing they can do to fix it.

Update: The owner called me to say the work was done, but the parts used were faulty. That may be the case, so I am updating this review. The owner was very nice, explained the possibility of a faulty part, and apologized. I added a star for this. However, if I had spoken to him in the first place the situation may have turned out differently. Sadly, when I asked for a manager or owner previoisly I was told no one was available.

On our way to Tahoe & heard a thumping noise that got progressively worse as my husband drove. Decided we better stop in Placerville to have it checked out. Pulled into Main Street Automotive & right away the guy determined the lug nuts weren't tightened all the way. This was from a service we had last week elsewhere. The guy was great & didn't even charge us. If you live in the area, I highly recommend this shop.

I highly suggest this place. I made them a yelp just because how happy I am. We were just coming up the base of the mountain to tahoe and our car started making a chugging grinding sound. We thought...great... our vacation when we worked so hard to get time off to come is ruined and we might have to have a tow truck take us and the car home. We stopped here and in 30 min they took the car in and fixed it in 2 hours maybe less. Very happy. Our vacation still going well thanks to them!

My car began playing up on a journey from the Bay Area to South Lake, made worse with two toddlers and round 100 degree temp outside. I stopped at Placerville and Jeremy's team kindly offered to take a look at it for me right away to see what the problem was and to see if I would be okay to continue up the mountain.
Firstly, their service couldn't have been quicker, they had the car up in the air in minutes.
My children and I ended up spending a couple of hours at Main Street Auto while I figured out logistics of rental car etc and Jeremy figured out what he needed to repair the car
