My car was lurching forward while accelerating. I needed a new catalytic converter. I also needed a smog. Becky suggested that I apply for the Cap App to save me $1200! I had no idea that there was this program out there to save me money on fixing emissions problem. She streamlined doing the paperwork and made the whole process super easy. Probably not a bad auto shop, but as a "DMV Partner", they fall short. Cal DMV has associated with private companies to expedite DMV basic services (yay!). Robinson's provides this service. I made an appointment, called the day before to verify time and location. Arrived 10 minutes early to a locked building. 45 minutes later, and a phone call, ("Wendy isn't there?"), someone (owner?) shows up, literally a minute before I was going to leave. Becky, Zach and everyone at Robinson's have been extremely helpful during my time of need with my vehicle breaking down. They did a fantastic job on keeping me updated on the progress with estimates. Outstanding service. Robinson's Automotive really went above & beyond to help us out of an unexpected jam we found ourselves in. We broke down on Highway 50 near Placerville. We were stuck on the freeway. We called several shops and none would agree to take a look at our Volvo. One shop referred us to Robinson's and we had "Sonia", our Volvo, towed to Robinson's. Sequoia helped shuttle us to the County offices before they closed as it was too late for us to call a taxi. They replaced the faulty fuel pump and we were back on our way. Highly recommend.

Review for Smog :
Went for a smog test bc of pretty consistent high ratings on here but primarily their close proximity to my location. I called, and they fit me in within days despite me being towards the end of my smog official due date so that was hugely helpful and saved me late feed. When I showed up at that time, they were quick and efficient with processing my intake. The dude helping was really nice, and because I was a first time customer he applied a discount (obviously in these times anything helps so I was very grateful especially bc i had no valid coupons).

These guys and gals are top notch! They are efficient, professional and honest people who even give veterans a discount! Their prices are very fair and I am so glad to have found them! Becky and Marty spent extra time working with my insurance company to assess my auto accident, providing pictures and reports that allowed the insurance company to not even send an adjuster and settle with me in less than 10 days! They didn't even charge me! A customer forever!

After over five years of what I considered doing business with a local neighbor I found out they starting WAY high over-sales by replacing parts that aren't due. Most recently had Engine light.
Three codes all PCV related = $1,850.
Other recommended shop some found parts ok but fees too high.

Super friendy and professional service. They don't try to upsell any services and are honest about what is/not necessary. Really disappointed with this place. Called to ask about getting a smog that I needed done this weekend.... I asked the lady on the phone if I can make an appointment as I am very limited on time and she said no. Drove over there during their business hours just for no one to be there and no one answering the phone. Such a waste of time and exactly why I asked to make an appointment.

Excellent Service & Terrific Staff!! My A/C compressor went out while my family & I were traveling on vacation in the Sierras. Robinson's Automotive not only got us back on the road ahead of schedule, & at a great price, but he personally taxied us into town while our vehicle was being worked on; which was a lifesaver as I was traveling with 2 teenagers who get "bored" very easily. We were able to continue our vacation up to Tahoe without a hitch!

We've recently run into some bad luck with one of our vehicles and no one could figure out what was wrong. Our check engine light kept coming on and an emissions code kept popping up that no one else could diagnose. Robinson's really worked hard to figure out what was going on with my car and after identifying everything that was going on, they gave me a fair price to get everything fixed. After having an hour and a half of my time wasted at another smog station in the area I called Robinson's and asked if they could get me in and they were able to right away. The shop was clean and air conditioned! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and definitely the most affordable smog around. Highly recommend!

I'm very grateful for Robinson's automotive and here's why. I called around to get my crummy RV smogged and no one would do it. Robinson's got me in no problem, got her smogged and even took some of the labor off! They also cleaned a rat nest inside the RV!
