Services
Dave started in the jewelry business in 1972 with his father and mother. Their first store was a tent on the side of Loon Mountain up in New Hampshire. They did that every summer and during the winter their first real business location was the old Mad River Canoe Company. They were there for a few years and then moved to a little bit nicer location just down the road.
We work with our customers to view designs and understand exactly what they're looking for, and we keep our customers involved in every stage of our process from conceptualization through the fabrication of waxes to the final product. We even take people on a tour of our studio to show them exactly how their custom jewelry is being made.
We are able to use your loose stones, or remove stones from other jewelry, to incorporate them into your new designs. We also have a wonderful collection of diamonds and colored stones in our store that could help compliment or inspire your designs. We are able to offer payment for scrap gold in the form of a check or store credit, which can be used toward a repair or a jewelry purchase.

I had never had to get my rings resized before and I was nervous about finding someone to trust. John David Jewelers eased that fear completely and did such an amazing job with my set! I very rarely write reviews but my experience here was so amazing, I had to write one. I needed my engagement ring resized locally so I could have my ring finger measured properly. The service here was fantastic. Everyone I interacted with in the shop was very friendly & knowledgeable. They were honest about what needed to be done & didn't try to upsell me on anything unnecessary. I dropped my ring off around 10:30 AM & got a call @ 3:30 PM that day saying it was ready. This locally owned Jeweler won me over the moment I walked in the door. The staff warmly welcomes you. I had the finest experience because the owners took the time with me to create custom pieces, to educate me and to fully explain the process of onsite design. This resulted in my ordering 1 custom ring, buying 2 gemstones and having an old setting given “new life”. I normally don't write reviews, but had a fantastic experience here and felt compelled to leave a review. I just brought my wedding band in for a simple resizing -- everything turned out perfectly and was done in about 15 minutes. The customer service was excellent and I especially appreciated the owner taking time to answer my questions about some of the beautiful custom pieces he's made over the years. I'll definitely be returning in the future when I'm able to make a purchase for a special occasion.

Excellent customer service and a miracle worker! He transformed the gold nugget/diamonds my grandmother gave me into this beautiful ring. Other jewelers told me using my own gold was too risky but Dave has been in this business a long time and knows exactly what he's doing. All I did was show him a picture and he made this beauty in two weeks. I truly appreciate Dave's professionalism and kind demeanor towards me after having such a horrible experience at 'Rings True.' & I could not be more thrilled with how beautiful my ring turned out! Best of the best! They really take the time and care to talk you through things, give you options, etc. I brought my mangalsutra here (it's an Indian wedding necklace) and they did such a great job with fixing the clasp and making sure it was secure. They even gave me a credit for the old gold clasp. And they were very patient in recommending different options for re-sizing my engagement ring and/or adding sizing beads (for the spinning). You can trust them with your priceless and sentimental jewelry!

I contacted this mom-and-pop shop to resize my wedding band. The lady (the co-owner) was very nice and attentive, and said it cost $125 to resize it. It was more expensive for this particular ring because of the metal used, and I agreed on the price. She said it will be ready in one week. They called me back a day later and told me the ring was ready to pick up. When I saw the bill, it was about $25 plus tax. I asked if there has been a mistake as they were charging me less than what we had originally agreed on. The gentleman (the co-owner) said that since the resizing was small, he could do it

I've only been to John David Jewelers once, but it was such a wonderful experience that I can't imagine going anywhere else! I needed my great grandmother's bracelet repaired as the latch wasn't working properly, and he fixed it in about 5 minutes right in front of me. He took the care to explain the different facets of the bracelet, what each part was made of and how, and let me watch him fix and clean it. It was just a kind, personable experience where I could tell everyone truly cares about doing quality work and keeping customers happy.

I had an excellent experience here!! My engagement ring was 2 sizes too big and I wanted someone excellent to resize it since I knew it could get complicated. Dave was so knowledgeable and friendly - he explained how they would resize it and what the possible complications with the stones were - he also explained how he could get around the problem. He was sensitive to the cost of the adjustment and gave my ring top priority, having it ready in just 2.5 days. When I got it back the ring was EVEN SHINIER THAN BEFORE and fit PERFECTLY!! It just doesn't get any better than this!! These folks helped me with a memorial locket and repaired some heirloom pieces. They were so very helpful and understanding of my needs. Also, I had a custom ring made here awhile ago and it is beautiful. Customer service is superior, in an era where customer service seems to be a lost art. These guys were fantastic. I had my engagement ring resized here. They were very reasonably priced, fast, and courteous. Despite the fact that my business did not amount to much (for simply resizing a ring), they spent a great deal of time with me, examining the ring, and explaining its features in detail. They did an excellent job resizing the ring, and returned it cleaned and polished at no additional cost. I highly recommend this wonderful family-owned business.

I had an excellent experience with David the owner. I came in without an appointment, but was able to meet with David without any problems for a consultation to split my platinum ring into two thinner rings. He said it would be no problem, while the original maker of the ring said they wouldn't do it. David gave me what I felt was a very fair price to do my custom order. After it was done in a week, he bought back the residual platinum scrap from the splitting and took it off of the price. He was a very sincere person to work with. Fantastic work - off-the-charts amazing! My husband worked with David on a custom engagement ring / wedding ring set for our 10th wedding anniversary and I cannot describe how beautiful, unique, and personal this ring is. Flawless scroll work / engraving (which includes my husband's, my son's, and my first initials intertwined) - truly a one-of-a-kind piece that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
