It is our belief that the teacher and the parents are responsible for the total education program of East Columbia Preschool. The ideals of their cooperative preschool education will be accomplished through a three-way sharing unit of the teacher, the parent, and the child. The school's program is based upon a desire to promote individual acceptance of each child by helping to develop the child's capacities at his/her own rate of progress.
In a loving and supportive atmosphere, the school will provide a balanced program consisting of a variety of activities, which will promote a feeling of self-worth, responsibility, and independence. The preschool also promotes parent education by having parents assist in the classroom and meet regularly for the exchange of ideas.

What classes does ECP offer, and when do they meet? What is the adult to child ratio? Does my child need to be toilet trained? What is the cost for attending ECP? What school calendar do you follow? What are my duties as a co-op parent? Does ECP follow an approved curriculum which will prepare my child to enter Kindergarten at the age of five?
Tuition and fees are proposed and approved annually at the Spring General Membership Meeting. Tuition is due on the first of the month. Any tuition payments (or fees) postmarked after the 5th of the month (the 6th if the 5th falls on a Sunday) must include a $10.00 late charge. The preschool will charge a $30.00 bank-processing fee for any check returned to your bank.

ECP's Fundraising Committee's job is to raise money to help keep ECP's tuition low for everyone. We aim to offer a mix of activities that are useful and fun for our members, alumni, and the community. Ideas for fundraisers are accepted at any time by e-mailing us at ecpbingo@gmail.com. The calendar for the year is set in August, and submissions made after that time will be considered for the following year.

As a former educator, I have an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. I have a masters degree in developmental Reading from Johns Hopkins University. I taught kindergarten in Howard County Public Schools as team leader for seven years. I know how critically important the early years are for children. As I was resigning my position in the county to become a stay-at-home mom, I sought out recommendations of preschools from parents. I went to
