My washer smells burning for the past couple days so I called ABC Appliances in the morning after done my searching on Yelp.
Mike picked up the call promptly and said he can drop by 1pm on the same day and that's good.
Mike arrived on time (1.12pm according to my Ring recording) but he took less that 10 minute to look at the washer. Basically he opened the washer door, turned washer tub a few round and concluded almost immediately that it has a bad tub bearing and recommend replacing the washer rather than doing any repair.
And he billed me for $134.50 and left my house 1.20pm.

I called ABC and the owner, who has been doing this for 30+ years, came right out. He diagnosed my problem, found the replacement part and came back and fixed my oven THE NEXT DAY. And he was very reasonable in price. I would call this professional again in a second. A very no-nonsense guy, he's been in the business long enough that he has seen (and probably fixed) everything.

Make no mistake, this guy is a no-nonsense individual. I saw the review that was negative and decided to give this local business a try because I like to keep it in our community. I'm very pleased with his work. He's not a chatter and that was fine with us. Our washer broke last night and I called today. He gave me an option of two time windows for the same day. He fixed it swiftly and was on his way. It was a baby sock stuck somewhere it shouldn't have been. I'm pleased and I'm going to use his business again when needed.

I am left feeling annoyed and unsatisfied after Mike left just now. I say this fully acknowledging that he fixed my problem (a dryer with a timer that would not advance) fairly quickly after sourcing a difficult part. His service is really that bad...frankly I'm disappointed in Yelp for sending my his way with all the praise and thanks. Mike deserves a more real review so here goes.
He first came to my house about a week ago and met with my wife to diagnose and hopefully fix the problem. Unfortunately I could not be there at the time, but she told me he was super terse and smelled powerfully

My washer/dryer combo was making really loud screeching noises then it died completely. I called Mike and he came out immediately to fix the problem. My dryer was broken and called ABC Appliances. Mike was very friendly and came out the same day. He knew what the issue was but needed to get the appropriate part. I was concerned how long this would take. He said he is going to get the part and will return the next day to completed the project. He arrived as scheduled and fixed the issue in a short period of time. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and was able to resolve my issue quickly. I would recommend them.

I am very pleased with the work Mike did on our washing machine. I was even more impressed that he came so quickly. I called him on a Saturday afternoon and he happened to be driving and have a window of availability and said "I'm on my way". He spent roughly 1 1/2 -2 hours troubleshooting the issue and eventually found that a shredded up sock was stuck in the water pump which he removed and that solved our drainage issue that was occurring. He charged us about $170 total for the service call and all work done which I felt was quite reasonable, all things considered. I did notice

Both washer and dryer were on the fritz. I called Sears. They couldn't come for 3 days and wanted to charge a diagnostic fee of $79 PER machine, even though the machines were right next to each other and this fee didn't include repairs.
I called ABC Appliance. They came out today. I was given a 2 hour time frame. Mike came at the beginning of that time, diagnosed, repaired and left before that 2 hours was up AND charged me less than Sears was going to charge me for just diagnosing the problem.
