Services
Tom is an owner of Boynton Beach Dive Center along with his wife, Deb. Tom started diving and teaching scuba diving in 1963. He has logged over 2000 dives here on the Boynton Beach reefs along with many other locations throughout the world. Tom is the primary "GO TO GUY" for information on just about every facet of the sport of diving.
Open Water Diver is an entry-level full diver certification program for scuba diving. It consists of a combination of knowledge development (theory), confined water dives (skill work in the pool or confined water and open water dives from the beach to the dive boat! At the completion of this course and its requirements a person will hold a basic certification in scuba diving and can dive recreationally worldwide.
This course is designed for the diver who wishes to lead other certified divers on underwater tours. Students will learn the techniques needed for pre-diving groups, group management underwater and how to manage underwater situations and emergencies. The goal is to create a well-prepared, versatile and marketable Dive Professional.
Most all our reefs and the prevailing currents run parallel to the shoreline. This combination creates a great opportunity to explore more reef area by drift diving. We start you out at one end of the reef and you lazily drift with the current to the other end where we pick you up. The maps you see here are created from high-resolution Laser Airborne Depth Sounding (LADS).

Took the Open Water with Nitrox certification with my daughter and had a great time. The instructor, James Baldwin was fantastic, very knowledgable and professional and was very carfull to make sure everyone in the class understood and was comfortable both in the class room and the dives. Can't wait to get out there for my next dive!

I’ve brought multiple tanks to get a hydro at the boynton dive center in the past and never had a problem. I recently purchased 2 steel tanks from a friend who bought them new and never used them. These tanks looked brand new, no scratches. I brought them to the boynton dive center to get a hydro and they were returned with very large scratches/paint chips which I did not realize until I got home. I don’t have a clue how these got so damaged, my other tanks which I’ve been actively diving with for close to ten years has never had scratches/ chips so big.

My son and I recently got certified at Boynton beach Dive Center. Rachel was our instructor and I couldn’t ask for a better teacher/mentor! My son needed a little help getting comfortable and I was amazed at how patient Rachel was, she built him up and created confidence in both of us! By the end of the class we were both dying to go for more dives! Boynton drift diving is amazing & beautiful!!!! The shop & the people working go above and beyond in making you comfortable! I cannot recommend her enough! Top notch and professional!!! Very happy with our experience!!!!

This dive shop is so friendly! We bought a new snorkel at first to replace an old one and were in love with the staff and how nice and knowledgeable they were. Soon after we booked a trip through the shop with Rachel. I have to say it was one of the best trips I have taken in years! She was able to get us everywhere we wanted to go, get us the best local Bahamian deals, and was a friendly instructor! I would definitely drive to visit this shop for the staff expertise, friendliness, and good prices! Also swimming with sharks is pretty dope too 🦈 🦈 🦈

I had an amazing time getting certified here. Rachel has several thousand dives, and it is evident in the quality of her instruction. She knows her diving, but even more importantly, she knows how to teach. She’s patient, kind, and very encouraging. She noticed whenever I might have needed a little extra confidence even if I didn’t know it myself, and was always ready to provide it. Great shop! All the staff exhibit a true love for conservation, marine life, and the beauty of our underwater world. I’ll be back next time I’m in Florida!
