Services
Suburban Cooperative Nursery School, a non-profit, non-denominational school, was formed and incorporated in 1961 by a group of parents who wanted to share and participate in the education of their preschool children. The school is administered by parents, while the curriculum is developed and directed by a teacher degreed and experienced in education.
Our cooperative preschool is administered and maintained by our parents, along with our teacher and director, on a nonprofit basis. Our parents aid our licensed teacher in the classroom as "helping parent" on a rotating schedule. Helping parents execute activities, engage students in learning and play, and oversee snack, and clean-up.
Suburban Cooperative Nursery School's 3's Preschool class is geared toward introducing your 3-year-old to a traditional classroom setting. We focus on child development through play, building creativity, and instilling confidence. Our classroom is made up of STEAM based learning stations with age and level appropriate activities.
This class prepares your 4 or 5-year-old for Kindergarten. Our STEAM based curriculum and lesson plans target all the current standards for Kindergarten readiness. In addition to curriculum our program components form a playful and inspiring environment, allowing children to blossom and grow to their fullest potential.
We have loved our experience with Suburban Co-op! We are a returning family with our second child now going through the program. Jan Lorko is an exceptional teacher! She is well planned and keeps the children engaged in learning. I love being a part of a cooperative. Being a hands-on part of my children's education is important to me, and interacting with the families and other children in our class has really enriched our experience!

I researched several pre-schools prior to enrolling my son at Suburban Co-Op. I couldn't be happier about my decision!! My very shy child has made some great friends, has really come out of his shell and has learned a lot. He will be starting the 4's class in a couple of weeks - I highly recommend this school! The teacher, Mrs. Lorko, is caring and attentive!
