Great Basin Bicycles
We are still taking service, doors are completely open, and NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY. Walk right in our automatic front doors, drop your bike off, and we will call you as soon as it is ready. We are running same day and next day service on almost everything. If we need to order parts, maybe just a little longer, but we are trying to do as much ON-THE-SPOT service as possible.

At Great Basin Bicycles, we have an automatic front door. Feel free to wheel your bike in with a note of what needs to be done, your name, and your phone number, leave the bike and walk out. I can take a CC over the phone and have your bike at the front door ready to go usually in 24 hrs or less. Get in - Get out - Go Ride - Be Safe!
Services
Compu-Trainer Classes are offered all winter long. We have 16 total units, 2 different banks of 8. Each bank is independently linked together so that 8 riders can ride a course created by me (Rich Staley - Owner of Great Basin Bicycles, ) each around 20 miles long. Some a little shorter, and some longer.
In 1997, Cannondale was the first company to feature large, oversized aluminum bike frames on cycling's biggest stage, the Tour de France. After powering his Cannondale to four stage victories at the 1999 Tour, the flamboyant Saeco team leader proclaimed "Cannondale is the best bike."

Cannondale continued to be a dominant team in the Tour De France since, sponsoring one of the worlds best cyclists Peter Sagan through his first, and many more stages of the Tour.In the last 14 years, we've won five Giro d'Italia Maglia Rosas, arguing that maybe we should add pink to our brand colors.
We are conscious of the fact that as a part of the community we must always give something back. Northern Nevada is our home-whether we are native born or chose to live here. We are all traveling down the bike path of life together-lets make our home a nicer place to live. We all have to learn to share.
Ever notice how the pro's just sit calmly on their bikes, as if they are one? Their upper body is so stable, you could place your drink between their shoulders while they ride and it wouldn't fall over. How do they do that? The answer is in an efficient pedal stroke. There is much more to cycling than just a "bike fit, " there is also how you pedal the bike.

I will never hesitate to recommend Great Basin. For every time I have been in there, they have fixed the issue while I wait, or the same day. I went to Sierra before since they were open later, but told me it would like a 10 day turnaround for re-taping my rear tubeless rim. Took to these guys the next day and got it done on my lunch break. Great work done fast, period.

Rich is exceedingly knowledgeable cycling as a whole, and provides a service that every cyclist should utilize in his bike fit and efficiency training. One session gave me the understanding to increase from mid 50% efficiency to high 80%, and the knowledge of what to go further. This training was by far the best money one can spend on cycling.

After ordering a part on the phone, I got a call three hours later that my part was in. They even helped me with an unrelated repair when picking up my part at no extra cost. These guys are awesome and care about their customers. Long live bike shops!

Something was wrong with my rear mech shifter. I called and they immediately seemed to know what was wrong. So I drove it to the shop, they fixed it in about 10 minutes and charged me $10. No up selling, no BS. Great job, I'll be a new regular customer.

Quick and efficient! I went in yesterday for a kickstand for my daughter's bike, and they were out of stock. He got some ordered while I was there and told me to come back today with the bike to size and install. I did, and we were in and out in no time! Price was great, too!! Love these guys!!

Called to see if they had a front wheel spacer for my bike, they said not sure just come in...
Was a bit worried to waste my time but lo and behold, I was greeted by an enthusiastic younger employee who stopped what he was doing to ask how he could help me. He bled my brakes while he sent another guy searching for a spacer. Turned out they didn't have it but in stepped who I assumed was the owner, he proceeded to modify a spacer on his lathe to get me riding that day! He said he could order me the correct one, at which point I told him I was only in town for the day. He then said come around

My 15 year old son walked in patiently waiting to be served because I told him to check out if they carry electric bike. Little did we both know that he would be treated with disrespect since I was not with him. I'm not sure if they had an issue with his ethnicity (Filipino) the way he dressed or because of his age. He was unhappy leaving that store & expresses his feelings to me.
I feel with this pandemic situation business should be great-full to have customer walk into their business even though they are window shopping. They should be more considerate knowing they have their

Really nice mechanics, fair prices, wouldn’t bring a complicated issue here. They worked for about 30 min on a fork and all 3 couldn’t figure out the problem. Brought it to black rock and he laughed and fixed it in under a minute. Again really great customer service here though

Love this shop! I trust the owner Rich and the guys to give me what I need to get back on the trails! For someone who doesn't know much about maintenance, and technical stuff about mountain biking, the crew at Great Basin always steers me in the right direction and never pushes anything on me I don't need.. unless I want it :)

Came here with my boyfriend, who broke a part on his bike. We had been turned away by High Sierra Cycling (nearest to our house), who claimed they were too busy to deal with our problem, probably because it wasn't lucrative enough for them. We were referred to Reno Bike Project, who told us to "come back tomorrow". Um, nope.

Found Great Basin Bicycles and stopped in 15 mins prior to closing not expecting anything to be fixed on the spot. However, the tech was able to make it happen with a part we were lucky they had on hand! The young tech guy was really nice. Didn't have

THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! I got into triathlons this year and wouldn't have finished my Ironman without them. They not only retrofitted my road bike with aero bars, but they also gave me a quick course on how to fix a flat. I also took a lesson with Rich to improve my riding which boosted my average speed up from 14mph to 18mph. I'm a better rider and more knowledgeable cyclist because of them. Would not go to anyone else in the Reno area for any concerns or questions I have about the sport and all things biking.

Not really sure what to think, spoke to Walt regarding the purchase of three super 3r helmets and was told that they weren't available from the manufacturer. Called Bell and all three are currently available. Tried to go to my local independent since I normally use them here and there.

I just almost finished building a mountain bike that I started at least 10 years ago. It is a cross country race bike that weighs around 21 pounds, and I only needed a seat post to finally complete it. I called a few shops around town, and Rich at Great Basin said he had 2 available at $20.00 each. I stopped by 3 days later just before they closed, and chose one. When I went to pay for it, I realized that I left my credit card next to my computer earlier when I made an online purchase. Rich was so cool; he told me to call with the payment info the next morning, which I did, but I was able to finish
